YouTube will soon launch a new, more affordable Premium subscription model

Google plans to roll out a new subscription system for its YouTube service soon. The new tariff is slightly more affordable than the previous Premium. Within it, users get the option to watch videos without ads, compared to the standard version of YouTube Premium, but this variant lacks some features, such as the ability to download offline or play in the background. The new tariff is called "Premium Lite" and is currently being tested in selected regions in Europe.

Users in Belgium, Denmark, Finland, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Norway and Sweden are currently able to try out the YouTube Premium Lite plan. The price of the YouTube Premium Lite service will be 6,99 euros per month, roughly 179 crowns in conversion, and as already mentioned, it will allow users to watch videos on the web and in YouTube applications completely without ads. Subscribers to the YouTube Premium Lite service will be able to watch their favorite videos without ads not only in the interface of their web browsers, but also in the corresponding applications for devices with the operating system iOS or Android, as well as on smart TVs or game consoles. YouTube Premium Lite also applies to YouTube Kids. The absence of ads is its only advantage. For other premium features, such as background playback or offline downloads, users will need to upgrade to the traditional version of YouTube Premium. It is not yet clear when YouTube Premium Lite will be officially launched in the rest of the world.
