Cloud gaming is very popular among gamers. There is nothing to be surprised about - services of this type allow users to play really great and sophisticated titles even on machines that would not be able to handle such a game in its classic form. Microsoft also joined the waters of cloud gaming some time ago with its game service xCloud. Kim Swift, who participated in the creation of the popular games Portal and Left 4 Dead, and who previously worked at Google in the Google Stadia division, is joining Microsoft. In addition to this news, our roundup of the past day this morning will talk about a new feature on the TikTok app.

Microsoft has hired reinforcements for cloud gaming from Google Stadia

When Google announced at the beginning of February this year that it would no longer produce games designed specifically for cloud gaming, many users were disappointed. But according to the latest news, it looks like Microsoft is taking over this role after Google. This company recently hired Kim Swift, who previously worked at Google in the position of design director for the Google Stadia service. If the name Kim Swift is familiar to you, know that she is connected, for example, to the popular game Portal from the workshop of the game studio Valve. "Kim will assemble a team focused on creating new experiences in the cloud," said Xbox Game Studios director Peter Wyse in an interview with Polygon in connection with Kim Swift's arrival. Kim Swift has spent more than ten years working in the gaming industry, and in addition to the mentioned Portal, she also worked on the game titles Left 4 Dead and Left 4 Dead 2. The games that users can play within services such as Google Stadia or Microsoft xCloud are not native for the cloud. They were primarily created for specific hardware platforms, but Google initially promised that it intends to start creating titles that will be designed directly for cloud gaming. Now, according to available reports, it seems that Microsoft has serious intentions with cloud gaming, or with games designed directly for playing in the cloud. Let's be surprised how the whole thing will develop in the future.

TikTok will offer creators the ability to add widgets to videos

The beloved and hated social platform TikTok will soon offer creators a brand new service that will allow them to add widgets called Jumps to their videos. As an example, a video in which its creator demonstrates a recipe can serve, for example, and which could contain, for example, an embedded link to the Whisk application, and users will be able to view the relevant recipe directly in the TikTok environment with a single tap. The new Jumps feature is currently in beta mode with a select handful of creators trying it out. If a user comes across a video with the Jumps function while browsing TikTok, a button will appear on the screen, allowing the embedded application to open in a new window.
