It would seem that the buzz around the audio communication platform Clubhouse died down almost as quickly as it began. According to some experts, the fact that it still hasn't been possible to bring Clubhouse to Android smartphones is partly to blame. Other companies, including Facebook, are trying to take advantage of this delay, which is preparing competition for Clubhouse. In addition, there will also be talk about the new smartwatch from OnePlus and a new feature within the Slack platform.

OnePlus introduced competition for the Apple Watch

OnePlus has unveiled its first smartwatch. The watch, which is supposed to compete with the Apple Watch, is equipped with a circular dial, its battery promises two weeks of endurance on a single charge, and its price is also pleasant, which amounts to roughly 3500 crowns. The OnePlus Watch has been visibly inspired by its competition from Apple in a number of key functions. It offers, for example, the possibility of changing sports straps, the function of monitoring the level of oxygen in the blood, or perhaps the possibility of monitoring more than a hundred different types of exercise and physical activity. In addition, users will be able to choose between more than fifty different watch faces or use native breathing exercises. The OnePlus Watch also comes with built-in GPS, heart rate monitoring along with stress level detection, sleep tracking and more. The OnePlus Watch features a durable sapphire crystal and runs a specially modified operating system called RTOS that offers Android compatibility. Users should expect compatibility with the iOS operating system this spring. The OnePlus Watch will only be available in a variant with Wi-Fi connectivity and will not be able to install third-party apps.

Private messages on Slack

The operators of Slack boasted about their plans to launch a feature that would allow users to send private messages to people outside their Slack community as early as last October. Now we finally got it and it got the name Slack Connect DM. The function is intended to facilitate work and communication, especially for companies that often have to deal with partners or clients outside their space on Slack, but of course anyone will be able to use the function for private purposes as well. Slack Connect DM was created thanks to the cooperation of the Slack and Connect platforms, messaging will work on the principle of sharing a special link to start a conversation between both users. In some cases, it may happen that the conversation will only be started after approval by Slack admins - it depends on the settings of individual accounts. Private messages will be available today for users of the paid version of Slack, and the feature should be extended to those using the free version of Slack in the foreseeable future.

Facebook is preparing competition for Clubhouse

The fact that Android smartphone owners still don't have the option to use Clubhouse plays into the hands of potential competitors, including Facebook. He started working on his own platform, which should compete with the popular Clubhouse. Zuckerberg's company announced its intention to build a competitor to Clubhouse back in February this year, but only now have screenshots of the application, which is still in development, come to light. The screenshots show that the future communication platform from Facebook will look a lot like Clubhouse, especially visually. Apparently, however, it will probably not be a separate application - it will simply be possible to go to the rooms directly from the Facebook application.
