The new version of Mac OS X 10.6, codenamed Snow Leopard, built on a 64-bit architecture, will focus primarily on increasing speed and improving work with RAM memory. There has been speculation that the new Snow Leopard could hit stores as early as August 28th, and according to Apple UK's website it will indeed hit the market on that day, although other global Apple stores are still listing a September release.
The release in September is also announced by the Czech Apple distributor. Snow Leopard will be available here as an upgrade to the current version of Mac OS X 10.5. Leopard, when the price of a single-user license will be around CZK 800, and a multi-user license for home use will be available at a price of around CZK 1500. Mac users with Intel processors who are still running OS X 10.4 Tiger will be offered a package including OS X Snow Leopard, iLife 09 and iWork 09 in a single-user license for around 4500 CZK and 6400 CZK in a multi-user license for home users.
The upgrade to Mac OS X Snow Leopard will be available free of charge to customers who purchased a Mac running OS X Leopard after June 8, 2009.
What 800 CZK……..a nice conversion from 20 dollars…and it pays off
10.6. it won't be in a week or two... there are still a lot of problems with it and a few things are out of tune (QuickTimeX, etc)... In addition, by changing certain elements in the UI of 10.6. she found herself exactly halfway between Marble Look and Aqua Look….. and what I consider to be the most important – so far 10.6. it is not able to work with both GFX cards in my book and that should be one of the main news (GPC and OpenCL). I wouldn't see it before the end of September...

Up To Date will not be free anywhere in the world and you have to ask for it directly on the Apple website. If someone gives it to you for free, it will be illegal and you can have a big problem... the person in question will simply steal it. :(
I have the latest developer version and except for a few minor issues I don't have the slightest problem. I would even say that it made it a lot faster in certain things (Javascript, …). So far, I subjectively rate it very positively.
And precisely because of this "difference" in the exchange rate, I bought a Leopard from Amazon for a fraction of the Czech price (about a fraction of the Czech price), I would say that the same thing awaits me with the Snow Leopard. Not only do I refuse to pay the diabolical apple.cz course, but I have also stopped sponsoring the irresponsible and useless thief called state budget for some time.
In Europe 8 euros, not free….
Is it possible to buy such things somewhere on the net without the need to physically send the media? I mean to pay legally (PayPal) and get a download code and link for it.
SteveJSF: no way, that's not possible..
