The iPhone 6 saw the light of day in September 2014, so this year marks five years since its introduction. Even though it's a relatively old phone full of now-outdated technology and hardware solutions, it's still not completely throwaway. Photographer Colleen Wright, whose photo taken with an iPhone 6 won, could tell you about it national photography competition in Oregon, USA.

The image taken with the eight-megapixel camera wowed the judges at the competition held in Portland, Oregon. Many photographers took part in the competition, a large part of them with their (semi)professional cameras. However, the winning picture was the best of all in its category.

The author was able to immortalize a typical autumn morning full of fog and dry weather, which breathes directly from the picture. The photography is also helped by the forest composition, which perfectly complements the autumnal (some might say even depressing and spooky) atmosphere of the whole scene. In the area from which the image originates, destructive fires swept through shortly before, which also left a strong mark. The film ended up winning the top prize in all the categories in which it competed.

This confirms once again that in the hands of an experienced photographer who knows how to compose an interesting picture, the iPhone is a very good tool. However, it is also (according to Apple) the most popular camera in the world. In recent years, Apple has tried to present the new iPhones as excellent photo mobiles, which is mainly served by the "Shot on iPhone" campaign, which Apple constantly updates with new images. Have you ever managed to capture a picture like this with your iPhone?
