If you take pictures, then it has probably happened to you at some point that something you don't want there has ended up in your photo. Professionals for image magic usually use Photoshop, but if you don't use expensive software from Adobe and you just want to delete people and objects from your photos, then Snapheal, for example, is enough for you.

Function Content Aware Child, the smart surface removal/addition that Adobe introduced in Photoshop CS5 more than two years ago, has become quite a hit and a simple way to remove unwanted objects from an image in just a few mouse moves. And MacPhun studio built its application on just such a function - we present Snapheal.

The app icon, which features a camera lens dressed in a Superman suit, hints that something special is about to happen. Although it is practically only a matter of using the above-mentioned function from Photoshop, how many times you will surely be amazed at the results that Snapheal can present.

Snapheal can do several things, from cropping photos, to adjusting brightness and color shades, to retouching, but the biggest attraction is undoubtedly the Erase panel. There are several tools for selecting an object and then three erasing modes – Shapeshift, Wormhole, Twister. The names of these modes are fairly self-explanatory, and frankly, it's not really clear which one is for what. After using it for a while, you will find that it is best to approach the three modes by trial and error until you get the best result.

However, the whole process is very easy. After selecting the object you want to remove, you only have the option of how precise the replacement should be, and that's it. Then you just wait for the application to process the request and, depending on the performance of your computer, sooner or later you will receive the resulting photo.

In most cases, Snapheal works quite reliably and you can get decent results in just a few seconds. If you have more time for editing, you can play more with the replacement of objects and create almost perfect images. The application can also handle large RAW images (up to 32 megapixels), so there is no need to compress your creations in any way.

Snapheal is normally priced at €17,99, but has been on sale for a few weeks now for €6,99, which is a really great deal. Assuming you don't own Photoshop CS5 and want to use the feature to easily erase objects, then definitely give Snapheal a try. In addition, the application offers you a number of other editing options. And if you still don't believe it, you can Snapheal try for free. Not for nothing, however, was Snapheal listed among the best apps in the Mac App Store last year.
