There are many Internet gateways available, but absolutely all of them work as web applications for Safari (application is probably an overstatement). They're just sites, and more to the point, most of them don't work more often than they do. We've been waiting a long, long time for a native app (written directly for the iPhone) and we finally got it. The free SMS app is now in the AppStore!

At the moment, the application is after the first update, and the author has fixed a lot of bugs in this version and added the option to manually choose the gateway through which the SMS will be sent (which is good for ported numbers). The lack of ability to insert a number from the phone's address book has been the most talked about problem of web apps for Safari, and this app finally solves the problem. With a single touch, you can go directly to your address book in the application, select a recipient, write a text and that's it. There is also a counter of written characters. Shipping takes place over the Internet and is relatively reliable and usually fast.

Even though the app has a few very minor flaws, it is definitely worth the money. For the price of one beer, you can send as many SMS as you want, wherever you want (to all three Czech networks). Free SMS has not been in the AppStore for long and it has already had its first update, which brought significant improvements and important changes, and I am convinced that the author will continue to intensively improve the application and perhaps even expand it with other options.
