Apple released the public beta version of iOS 11.2 last night, and many more users joined the testing. The public beta doesn't differ much from the developer beta except for one rather important thing. With the expansion of the beta test to public testers, Apple has decided to finally launch the payment service Apple Pay Cash, which users have been waiting for for several months. This service was introduced by Apple at this year's WWDC conference and met with an enthusiastic response among users, as it will allow sending "small items" using classic messages.

However, the implementation of Apple Pay Cash has one catch, due to which it may not be of much interest to us in the Czech Republic. The service is currently only available in the US. So if you live behind a big puddle, you can participate in the testing from yesterday evening. You will need a device that supports classic Apple Pay and iOS 11.2 or watchOS 4.2. In terms of supported devices, the service will work on iPhone SE/6 and later, iPad Pro, iPad 5th generation, iPad Air 2nd generation and iPad Mini 3 and later. Of course, it also supports all generations of Apple Watch.

If you have the service active, you will see its icon directly when writing messages. After clicking the icon in the conversation, all you have to do is enter the amount you want to send to the other party (or ask for it) and then confirm everything. To use Apple Pay Cash, you must have two-factor authentication enabled on your Apple account. The maximum amount sent/requested is currently $3.
