Soon it will be two months since we have been enjoying payments through Apple Pay in the Czech Republic. However, Slovaks are still waiting for the option to pay with an iPhone or Apple Watch. However, this should change in the foreseeable future and the service from Apple should arrive in several European countries, including Slovakia. The Slovak Savings Bank also officially confirms the information.

Apple also reminded us of its tendency to expand Apple Pay to as many countries as possible during the March Keynote. Shortly after, several banks announced that they plan to support the service in several European countries. The list includes Greece, Luxembourg, Portugal, Slovenia, Romania, Estonia and finally Slovakia.

Already at the end of last month announced the arrival of Apple Pay to our nearest neighbors internet bank N26. Not long ago, the Slovak Savings Bank on his official Facebook has confirmed that it will bring Apple Pay early this year.

"Slovak sporiteľňa will introduce Apple Pay later this year, thanks to which mobile payments turn into a simple, secure and discreet payment method that is also fast and convenient for clients in Slovakia."

Given the fact that Slovenská sporiteľňa is one of the largest banks in Slovakia, the information seems credible. Although no one has yet mentioned the exact launch date, Apple Pay can be expected on the Slovak market within weeks, probably during April or May.
