Patrik Pajer Single-track vehicles face slight discrimination in the gaming industry. While there are tons of games for car lovers, motorbikes and bicycles don't get a chance to shine very often. Many certainly remember the revelation, which was, for example, the possibility (in the first missions, even the obligation) to ride a bike in GTA: San Andreas. However, every now and then an indie video game proves that neglected vehicles don't live up to their potential. One of them is the beautifully executed, yet frantically nerve-wracking Descenders.

The game from the studio RageSquid is a great translation of downhill mountain biking into virtual space. The developers boast an accurate physics model that simulates the behavior of your bike based on how you transfer your racer's weight and control speed. It is therefore not surprising that the key to successfully conquering procedurally generated tracks is precise control. For that reason, it can be a game that will start to get on their nerves quite soon for some more impatient players. Descenders is not forgiving, especially in the special "boss" levels, where every mistake will deprive you of a good portion of health.
Of course, this difficulty stems from the fact that the mission of Descenders is to raise its players into top virtual bikers. The satisfaction of beating a repeated level in this self-proclaimed "rogue-bike" is worth the momentary inconvenience and struggle with sensitive controls. And so that you are not alone, the game offers the possibility to join one of three teams, into which players from all over the world are divided. By honing your own skills and gaining skill points, you not only help yourself to cosmetic rewards, but also your team in the fight for world supremacy.
