Operating systems from Apple are characterized by their simplicity, modern design and great functions. Of course (almost) no hardware can do without quality software, which the giant is fortunately fully aware of and is constantly working on new versions. For systems, the biggest holiday is the developer conference WWDC. It takes place every year in July, and during its initial presentation, new operating systems are also unveiled.

They have remained roughly the same in recent years. The fundamental change came only in the case of macOS 11 Big Sur, which, compared to the previous version, received several novelties, a simpler design and other great changes. In general, however, only one thing is true - in terms of design, the systems do develop, but each in its own way. Therefore, it is not surprising that apple growers are debating the potential unification of the design. But would something like that be worth it?

Design Unification: Simplicity or Chaos?

Of course, the question is whether the eventual unification of the design would be the right move. However, as we mentioned above, the users themselves often talk about such a change and would like to see it in reality. In the end, it also makes sense. By unification alone, Apple could significantly simplify its operating systems, thanks to which the user of one Apple product would know practically immediately what and how to do in the case of another product. At least that's how it looks on paper.

However, it is necessary to look at it from the other side as well. Unifying the design is one thing, but the question remains whether something like that would actually work. When we put iOS and macOS side by side, they are completely different systems with a different focus. Therefore, several users hold the opposite opinion. A similar design could be confusing and make it easier for users to get lost and not know what to do.

When will we see a change?

For now, it is unclear whether Apple will actually decide to unify the design of its operating systems. Considering the requests of the apple growers themselves and looking at the possible benefits, however, a similar change would clearly make sense and could significantly contribute to simplifying the use of apple products. If the Cupertino giant is going to make these changes, then it is more or less clear that we will have to wait for them some Friday. The new operating systems were introduced at the beginning of June, and we will have to wait until next year for the next version. Likewise, no respected source from a number of leakers and analysts has mentioned the unification of the design (for now). Therefore, the question is whether we will see it at all, or when.

Are you satisfied with the current operating systems from Apple, or would you like to change their design and be in favor of their unification? If so, what changes would you most like to see?
