The operating system for Apple TV was introduced only last year, and at this year's developer conference WWDC, it received only a few innovations. The biggest one is the expanded capabilities of the voice assistant Siri, which is a key control element. Unfortunately, she didn't learn Czech this year either, she only got to the Republic of South Africa and Ireland.

Siri can now search for movies on Apple TV not only by title, but also by theme or period, for example. Ask “show me documentaries about cars” or “find 80s college comedies” and it will find exactly the results you want. Siri will now be able to search YouTube, and through HomeKit you will also be able to task her to turn off the lights or set the thermostat.

For American users, the single sign-on function is interesting, when they will no longer have to register separately for paid channels, which always involved a computer and copying the code. From autumn, they will log in only once and will have their entire offer available.

Apple announced at WWDC that there are already over six thousand applications for tvOS, which has been in the world for a little over half a year, and it is in applications that the Californian company sees the future. This is also why Apple has improved the Photos and Apple Music applications and has also released a new Apple TV Remote, which works on an iPhone and copies the original Apple TV remote.

Many users will certainly welcome the fact that Apple TV can now automatically download an app that you purchase on an iPhone or iPad, and it will also be smartly connected to the iOS device when the keyboard appears on the TV and you need to enter text - on the iPhone or On an iPad with the same iCloud account, the keyboard will also pop up automatically and it will be easier to type text. In addition, the new dark interface that can be switched to will definitely come in handy for many situations.

The test version of the new tvOS is ready for developers today, users will have to wait until the fall.
