On the occasion of the April Keynote, Apple showed us this year's first novelties, among which was the expected Apple TV 4K with the even more expected Siri Remote controller. It was the previous generation of the driver that met with huge criticism and users often complained about it. Fortunately, Apple heard their pleas and introduced a redesigned version. It is also interesting that according to survey 9to5Mac magazine, nearly 30% of Apple TV users plan to buy a new controller only to use it with an older generation Apple TV.

Tim Twerdahl, Apple's Vice President of Product Marketing for Home and Audio, was recently interviewed and shared some interesting information. He first looked back at the history of controllers in general, when he mentioned that previously we could always jump at twice the speed, i.e. 2x, 4x and 8x, which was not an ideal solution. In this regard, you can admit that you "whistled" several times because of this and ended up behind the passage you wanted to find. That's exactly why when creating the Siri Remote, Apple was inspired by the classic iPod and its popular click wheel, which is now also on the remote. Thanks to the combination of various findings, they were able to create a perfect controller that apple fans will surely like.

At the same time, Twerdahl highlighted the button for Siri, which is located on the right side of the controller. He added that their goal is of course to come up with the most comfortable solution possible. That's exactly why they placed the mentioned button on the right side, just like it is on apple phones. Whether the Apple user holds an iPhone or the Siri Remote in his hand, he can activate the Siri voice assistant in exactly the same way. He then concluded by saying that the new Apple TV 4K, along with its controller, is well-prepared for the future, with support for higher refresh rates, HDR and the like.
