You are a modern user and want to use your mobile device to the fullest. Even across the language barrier, you want to use your assistant. And with the passage of time, you will come across such quirks that start to bother you during daily use. I will share one such peculiarity with you today. And please notice if you find the same thing in use.

We all have a so-called smart assistant on our mobile phone. The three main, and indeed the only, candidates today are Siri, Google Assistant and Samsung's Bixby. Sure, there's Alexa, but it's not widespread on mobile phones. However, smart assistants simply exist and for many of us they mean a daily companion and friend. The assistants do speak English, so communicating through them or entering appointments into the calendar is not entirely easy (except for Google, which can do it in Czech), but launching applications, searching for and playing music, media control, calling family, or setting an alarm clock or timers - the assistant can be conveniently used for all of this with the basics of English.

We in Apple devices are already used to our Siri. You can really control a lot of things with it, so even the language barrier is not an obstacle. I personally use it, for example, to quickly launch applications or to quickly search in the settings. Such a sentence "Voiceover settings" or "Turn off Wi-Fi" it can save many screen touches. Over time, I've come to love Siri and I use it every day, especially for situations when I need something quickly - I need to write a note right away, and therefore I need to quickly open the application intended for that, or I need to quickly pair a Bluetooth device, so I want to quickly go to Bluetooth settings. And that speed is often the problem. Siri can fix a lot of system tasks, but how would I put it... well, she's just awfully chatty.

When I enter a command in Google Assistant, it is executed immediately. The application will open immediately, start the relevant settings, etc. But not Siri - as a proper woman (I apologize to the readers and the wife, I hope she won't read this) she has to comment on everything. You say, for example "Bluetooth settings" and instead of quickly opening the settings and the wireless bluetooth settings section, she says first "Let's look at Bluetooth settings", or "Opening settings for Bluetooth". And only then is it appropriate to open the given settings application. Sure, you say to yourself, it's barely three seconds, but consider that I do it like fifty times a day. And if I need to open the settings really quickly, even those three seconds can quite often annoy me. Due to natural communication, I would still understand if the relevant task started to be performed and in the meantime Siri would say what was on her mind, but unfortunately it is the other way around. So far, the longest sentence announced that the settings for one communication application were opening, and it was almost 6 seconds long. That will take a long time, don't you think?

I use Siri a lot, as well as the Android assistant, so I can compare the two assistants. And I'll admit that the "chatter" of the apple assistant or assistant (depending on how you set your voice) can really be terribly annoying sometimes. Have you experienced this minor discomfort or are you okay with it?
