Who would have thought that the days of games in which you transform into the roles of aircraft or ship navigators are over, would be wrong. Not only is the pioneer of this type of entertainment - Flight Control - still among the most played titles, but its copycats are still appearing on the AppStore...

I was recently browsing through the apps in the AppStore when I came across Shipwreck in the 'Top free' section. And let me tell you, I didn't even have to unbox the featured item and I'd bet anything that the game would be what it ended up being. In short, it's good that it's another imitation of Flight Control.

The game was free (as stated in the description for a limited time only) so I 'bought' it. After all, I have already tried more games in the style of Flight Control, so I did not want to miss this title.

The not-so-complicated menu offers you only the most important things – a new game, statistics, instructions and music. After turning it on, you will see the scenery of water and two ports, respectively a pier. The one at the top of the screen (yellow) is mainly used for large cargo ships, as the cranes standing around indicate. The second (red) is located opposite the sandy beach, where smaller cruise or passenger ships are moored. It should be noted that in terms of graphics, the CandyCane team's game really excelled.

The task is simple - more and more ships appear on the screen, which you have to direct to the respective ports. That is, the yellow ship to the yellow port and the red ship to the red one. However, coloring is not the only differentiator. In the game, you will come across five different types of vessels, each of which has its own characteristics - speed of sailing, speed of unloading cargo. And it is the unloading speed that will work here, because the faster the ship is unloaded, the faster it leaves the pier and can dock another ship.

In the opening passages, the game will not be very fast-paced and you will organize the vessels quite easily. But over time, there will be more and more of them on the water, and it will no longer be just about running your finger on the ship and sending it to port, but also about some kind of tactics. The ships must not collide at any cost, because then the game ends.

As for the future of the game, the developers promise that new ports, new game modes and even a global highscore should be added in the next updates. But no one knows yet what will come of it, so we can only hope that the developers will not resent us.

UPDATE 24.11: The game is no longer free and costs €0,79.
