A lot of so-called sandbox games give you countless, often procedurally generated, worlds to explore. The opportunity to do practically anything in the game within the limits set by the developers was made the most of, for example, Minecraft, which offered players the entire world to rebuild. Terratech plays on a similar note, only instead of reshaping the environment, it gives you the means to build possible and impossible machines.

TerraTech puts an entire galaxy full of procedurally generated planets in front of you. You, as a prospector, then send out expeditions whose task is to use the natural resources of the investigated worlds. For this, you can build an incredible number of diverse machines. These can be used to extract valuable raw materials, to quickly explore planets, but also to fight with hostile factions. You can also build different buildings and factories from the found raw materials, which will help you produce more different parts to make even more specialized machines.

In addition to the campaign, in which you play the role of a prospector, you can also try the creative mode in TerraTech. The game puts no limits on you and you can build the strangest machines in peace. You can play TerraTech with someone else thanks to cooperative modes that include both the campaign itself and the art mode.
