A month ago, a case appeared on the web that pointed out how big a problem it can be in the case of an out-of-warranty claim for the new iMac Pro. A major Canadian YouTube channel, Linus Tech Tips, was experiencing major issues that subsequently appeared in the video. In the last few days, another similar problem is being solved, where the new iMac Pro again plays the main role and another bigger (although not so big) YouTube channel is behind documenting it.

Both cases are similar in a way, but both involve a slightly different problem. The YouTuber behind the channel called Snazzy Labs came up with the new one. As you can see in the video below, the simple replacement of the installed (and sold in the official Apple store) VESA bracket with the original stand that belongs to the iMacs turned into a problem of several weeks, which resembles one big prank on the part of Apple.

The author of the video needed to install the original stand on his iMac Pro for review purposes. So he needed to remove the VESA mount that he had been using on his machine until then. However, as it turned out, the VESA bracket offered by Apple is a real crumpet that does not hold up, and during the first disassembly, both the anchoring screws crack and the threads that attach the bracket to the back of the iMac break.

The author thus managed to tear off several anchoring screws, which made it impossible to disassemble the VESA holder. So he took his iMac to the nearest Apple store, where after several strange emails and confused communication, he got his computer back. The old VESA mount was removed, but a new one was installed in its place (which had exactly the same problems as the previous one). In addition, the technician at the Apple store quite seriously damaged both the original stand and the slot for attaching it. So a situation has arisen that you really don't want to get into with your computer for more than a hundred thousand crowns...
