Apple is not exactly in the habit of revealing ahead of time what products and services it has in store for its customers. It was not customary to even hint. But this rule was recently broken by Tim Cook himself, who stated in an interview with NBC News that Apple's design team is working on things that will take people's breath away.

The statement was in response to an article in Sunday's Wall Street Journal regarding the departure of chief designer Jony Ive from the company. It stated that Ive's gradual estrangement from Apple was due to his frustration with the company's growing focus on operations. Cook called this theory absurd and stated that it did not match reality. On this occasion, he immediately indicated what projects we can look forward to from Apple in the future.

Cook described his design team as phenomenally talented and stronger than ever. “I have every confidence that they will thrive under the leadership of Jeff, Evans and Alan. We know the truth, and we know all the incredible things they are capable of. The projects they are working on will take your breath away.” stated

However, Cook kept the details of the mentioned projects to himself. According to him, the company wants to focus more and more on services, but it will not neglect hardware either. Three new iPhones are expected to be released in the fall, and in connection with this upcoming event, there is speculation about a high-end model with a triple camera, for example. There is even talk of support for 5G connectivity, but other sources in connection with Apple are not predicting until next year. We should also expect a new Apple Watch, a sixteen-inch MacBook Pro or perhaps the next generation of AirPods. But there are other ambitious projects in play, such as an autonomous vehicle or glasses for augmented reality.

Of course, we will not see anyone from Apple reveal more specifically what is going on in Cupertino. From the interviews given by Tim Cook, however, his unequivocal enthusiasm for some new technologies, such as the aforementioned augmented reality, which he spoke enthusiastically about even before Apple introduced its ARKit, emerges.
