Scott Forstall has not been heard from since his departure from Apple in 2012. The former head of iOS is getting involved publicly for the first time, and for most probably in a very surprising way - as a producer of a Broadway play. But for the first time, he also commented on his former workplace.
In a rare interview, he proved Scott Forstall to interview daily The Wall Street Journal and although most of the conversation revolved around Forstall's new life and the Broadway scene, Apple was also mentioned. And Forstall's words were very kind.
On his departure from Cupertino, Forstall said he was “very proud of the thousands of people I worked with at Apple and with whom we have remained friends. I am delighted that they continue to create great and beloved products”.
For the Apple address, that was all from Forstall. Nevertheless, this is his very first public appearance since October 2012, when until then the key man of the entire company was removed from Apple.
I'm thrilled to be co-producing the Broadway musical Fun Home http://t.co/PqrKKZGcxY opening this Sunday. Bravo to the phenomenal team!

As the main reason why Tim Cook, then only a year in the role of executive director, a great favorite of Steve Jobs released, the Maps debacle was featured. For Apple, the first version of the map application did not succeed at all, but Forstall refused to take responsibility for it and apologize publicly.
But the maps were apparently not the main reason for Forstall's departure, although they certainly did not help him. The problem was mainly in the big disagreements in the company's top management, where Forstall constantly came into conflict with other managers. Bob Mansfield almost finished because of him, who finally made up his mind after Forstall's end to continue in the new role.
Either way, Forstall, who had a strong understanding with Steve Jobs, for example regarding the look of iOS, holds no public grudge against Apple. Apparently after his departure donated to startups and philanthropy and is now fully enjoying her success on Broadway. His play "Fun Home" has been receiving high praise from critics so far.
Congratulations to the whole #FunHome team for an astonishing 12 nominations for the #TonyAwards including Best Musical! Wow. — Scott Forstall (@forstall) April 29, 2015
So if he has shares in Apple, why wouldn't he praise...
Although I have already gotten used to his link, which has disappeared from iOS and OS X, I like to remember him and sometimes I just miss the stitched leather.
With the current design of iOS and OS X, he must be about to throw up... Maybe he went back to Apple and fixed everything...
