Consumer Reports put wireless headphones to the test. Samsung Galaxy Buds and AirPods were pitted against each other. Perhaps surprisingly, the Galaxy Buds won by a wide margin. Why?

The editors mention that they had to appreciate the excellent sound performance of the Galaxy Buds during testing. According to them, however, AirPods lost in several categories. According to the server, AirPods play quite well. For example, when listening to music or the spoken word normally, they are sufficient. However, they allegedly lack the fidelity of reproduction.

Bass is said to be one of AirPods' weak points. Although the headphones can pick up low sounds such as a kick drum, they say they lack sufficient depth. So we hear the bass, but without the low tones that shape the overall impression. The headphones also have a problem with the mids. Passages with multiple instruments blend together and the listener has trouble distinguishing them from one another.

Second generation AirPods

On the contrary, the Galaxy Buds have clean bass, but they do not lack depth. They also play more faithfully in the mids and highs, it is not a problem to capture details and distinguish individual sounds.

When evaluating the design of the headphones themselves, the editors were rather restrained. They understand that every user has different tastes. Some people are more comfortable with earbuds such as Galaxy Buds, while others are more comfortable with earbuds like AirPods.

AirPods aren't true and don't even support USB-C

The test also showed the advantages of fast AirPods pairing thanks to the H1 chip. Of course, this only helps in the Apple ecosystem between Apple devices. The storage case also deserved praise. On the other hand, according to Consumer Reports, touch control is not always reliable and pleasant.

The result of the test was clearly dominated by the Galaxy Buds. They received a full 86 points, while AirPods "only" 56 points. The Consumer Reports server does not recommend Apple headphones.

Galaxy Buds sound fantastic, according to our editors. They go much further than most average headphones. In addition, they support standard functions such as charging via USB-C or Qi wireless technology. Plus, you don't have to turn up the volume to drown out the surroundings.

Consumer Reports says it understands that AirPods will be sufficient for Apple users. But according to them, the Galaxy Buds are the clear winner, including the price, which in the Czech Republic is around 3 CZK compared to 900 CZK for AirPods with a wireless charging case.

For a Czech user, the Consumer Reports review is probably not essential. However, for many Americans, it is a very popular server that they recommend.
