According to the leaks so far, it looks like Samsung will introduce the new Galaxy Z Fold10 and Z Flip4 folding devices on August 4, as well as the new Galaxy Watch5 and Watch5 Pro, as well as the Galaxy Buds2 Pro headphones. But will anyone even be interested in the summer months? Apple will come with its iPhone 14 and Apple Watch Series 8 in September.

Apple has various events ideally spread throughout the year at which it presents new products. These dates are repeated regularly, so with (covid) exceptions, you can pretty well rely on them long in advance. Just as we know that WWDC will be in June, we know that the new iPhones and Apple Watches will arrive in September.

Since Google also organizes a similar WWDC in the case of the I/O conference, it is clearly trying to be ahead of Apple's event - the new Android is thus introduced before iOS. In the case of the September event, there is a very similar situation in the case of Samsung. Everyone knows that the iPhones are coming this month, and everyone knows that there will be a proper halo around them, be it positive or negative, nothing else will be talked about. And that's why it makes no sense to introduce anything of your own in close proximity, because it will be clearly overshadowed by the power of the iPhones.

Who will be first?

When it comes to the mobile market, Samsung is betting on two terms. One is the one at the beginning of the year, when it introduces the Galaxy S series. These are the company's flagship phones, which are direct competitors to the iPhones. The second date is August. In this term, we have recently encountered foldable devices and watches. But there is one problem - it's summer.

People associate summer with a relaxed regime, holidays and vacations. Due to the outdoor activities, most are engaged in them rather than watching what flies where. So the Samsung conference is clearly missing its full effect here, because the September date, when everyone is already in the rut, is already taken.

So the world will learn the shape of the company's new devices, but the question is whether it is more interested. Samsung must be ahead of Apple. It wouldn't catch on after the introduction of iPhones, so it has to overtake it. But precisely because Apple has "blocked" September, it practically cannot do otherwise. He has to make a big event, because otherwise his puzzles would only be in numbers, on the other hand, the public can't pay as much attention to them as if they were presented in a "better" time.

It is not even possible for Samsung to block a later date. October will be full of iPhone impressions, November is already too close to Christmas. At the same time, the door is still open for Apple to introduce a puzzle. It will still be true that Samsung introduced it earlier. This is also the case with watches. The new Galaxy Watch will be introduced before the Apple Watch, and Samsung will be able to immediately post on social networks how Apple is holding its ground, while its watch can do this and that.
