After all, this is exactly why it is used in the watch industry to protect the dial, as it is extremely difficult to scratch and damage such glass, which brings with it a number of great benefits. It is therefore not surprising that Apple is betting on the same possibility with its Apple Watch - even since its initial launch on the market. But there is a catch. Sapphire is not as easy to work with and is more expensive, which of course is reflected in the price. But which models actually have this?

As we mentioned above, Apple watches have relied on sapphire glass since their zero generation. But there is a minor catch - not every model can be proud of something similar. The Apple Watch Sport model already stood out from the zero generation at that time, which had a classic Ion-X glass, which you could also find, for example, on the current Apple Watch Series 7. When the Cupertino giant presented the Apple Watch Series 1 a year later, many people were surprised by the fact that this the model did not have a sapphire glass. However, with the arrival of Series 2, the company's plan, which continues to this day, was revealed - only selected models have a sapphire crystal, while the aluminum ones, which by the way are overwhelmingly prevalent, have "only" the mentioned Ion-X.

Apple watches with an aluminum case (including the Nike edition) only come with Ion-X glass. But there is practically nothing wrong with that, as it still offers relatively solid resistance and is a sufficient option for the vast majority of apple growers. But those who suffer from luxury and durability will simply have to pay extra. You will only find a sapphire crystal glass on watches marked Edition (which can be made of ceramic, gold or titanium) or Hermès. Unfortunately, they are not available in our area. For domestic apple lovers, there is only one option if they were looking for a "Watchky" with this durable gadget - the purchase of an Apple Watch with a stainless steel case. But we already indicated above that they will cost you an extra thousand. The current Series 7 model with a stainless steel case is available from 18 CZK, while the classic edition with an aluminum case starts at 990 CZK.
