Ondrej Holzman Everyone has experienced this many times. An unknown number calls you and the operator on the other end answers with a usually annoying question that you don't want to answer. If you had known in advance that it was an unsolicited call, surely many of you would not have answered it at all. With a new app "Pick it up?" you can really find out in advance.
Thanks to the new application "Pick it up?" from developers Igor Kulman and Jan Čislinský, you can immediately find out on the iPhone screen under an unknown number whether it is a fraudulent or annoying number, typically telemarketing or perhaps an offer of various services.
Everything is also very simple. You can download "Pick it up?" for one euro from the App Store and then activate the application in Settings > Phone > Call blocking and identification. In iOS 10, such an application no longer needs access to your contacts, nor does it track your call history, so the application respects your privacy.
After allowing access, you don't need to do anything else. The application checks every incoming call from an unknown number against its database, which currently has over 6 numbers. If there is a match, it not only marks the number with a red dot, but also writes what it is about (survey, telemarketing, etc.). If a number is not yet in the database, you can easily report it in the application.
"Pick it up?" is not the first application of its kind, but it is important for Czech users that its database is mainly related to the domestic market, so it will serve Czech users much better than foreign applications.
The application should soon arrive in Slovakia under the name "Raise it?". In the future, the authors want to add more features, such as the ability to turn on the automatic blocking of spam numbers.

Yes, I can read, that's why I put this stop. Speaking of blocking unsolicited and unknown numbers, there is a striking difference. I can block unsolicited numbers manually even without this app. Blocking all unknown (meaning secret) numbers is another thing, and as far as I know, no application offers this function yet...
Just be careful that hidden callers are most often used by the authorities and the police, so I don't know if it's a good idea to block these callers.
The office and the police do not call me, and if they want, keep the number secret. That's not my problem anymore. And if someone doesn't like it, let them block it, but I want it blocked
The authorities and the police do not "declassify" the number, because they call through the GSM gateway (through which you cannot call them back) and so that the caller does not confuse it, the number is systemically suppressed. None of the officials can change anything about it….
so what? so they just don't appeal to me... I don't see any problem in that... 20 years ago, there were no phones and everything was fine. I have no problem accepting this fact, and if someone does, it's their decision... I just want to make the right decision...

What about iP5 and iP4? Is the app really that demanding or is it laziness!!!
so the app requires callkit, which is only for ios 10, which does not work on ip4. Furthermore, I would say that the developers wrote the app only for 64bitt, hence the incompatibility with ip5.
And what about a missed call? The unknown number will be added to the "missed calls" group and you will either dial it back or not. How many times it just rings and hangs up, meaning you don't have a chance to answer the call. And there are many such cases. Then the application is useless.
In the list of missed calls, the application will always make a note if the number is in the database.

Or you can download Truecaller, which is free, frequently updated and has been working on Android since 2014, so the database of numbers is quite comprehensive. It's quite pointless to pay for an unverified application when another, already established and tested application provides the same functionality for free :) I've been using it for some time now and I definitely don't think that the "non-domestic" application would serve any worse than the domestic one
