Last week, Apple quietly introduced a brand new product, the MagSafe Battery Pack. It is an additional battery that attaches itself to the back of the iPhone 12 (Pro) using magnets and then ensures that the iPhone is constantly charged, thereby extending its life. In addition, yesterday Apple released the 14.7 update, which by the way unlocks the MagSafe Battery Pack option. Thanks to this, there is nothing to prevent those who already have the product from properly testing it.
The extremely popular leaker going by the nickname DuanRui, who ranks among the most credible sources regarding Apple ever, shared an interesting video on his Twitter. The image tests the charging speed of an iPhone through this additional category, with the result being absolutely disastrous. In half an hour with the screen locked, the apple phone was charged by only 4%, which is an absolute extreme that will definitely not please anyone. Especially for a product for almost 3 thousand crowns.
The original blogger actually tested that only 4% of the battery was charged in the locked screen for half an hour. He himself said that he paid the IQ tax. https://t.co/SBzvVLX4X4

However, you shouldn't jump to any conclusions just yet. It is possible that the video is, for example, fake or otherwise edited. For this reason, it will definitely be better if we wait for more data that will better describe the charging speed of the MagSafe Battery Pack and reveal all its secrets. If the product charged at a rate of 4% in 30 minutes, i.e. 8% per hour, it would take an incomprehensible 0 hours to charge from 100 to 12. Currently, we can only hope that the truth is somewhere else entirely, or that it is simply a software bug.
I would believe that 4%. Typical Apple food. Product for 4% of individuals.
Go troll on some android forum, no one here is curious about it ;-)
It is logical due to the fact that the battery pack is meant to extend the life of the built-in battery during the day and not for recharging as from a power bank...
The whole MagSafe thing on the iPhone 12 is a huge bummer. More harm than good. If I could choose a model with or without MagSafe in the future, I would definitely take the one without. If they had stuck to the proven Qi standard, they would have done better. So here we have a new thing that they haven't really fine-tuned yet and it has problems with old chargers - you can't rely on it.
Well, I have some kind of ordinary wireless charger in my car and it charges pretty quickly, and I have my phone in the case, navigation running and streaming audio. So I don't know exactly what the problem is.
