The recently introduced 13″ MacBook Pro entered the market, which received a new M2 chip from the Apple Silicon family. Apple revealed it next to the completely redesigned MacBook Air, which clearly took over all the attention of Apple fans and literally overshadowed the mentioned "Pro". Actually, there is nothing to be surprised about. At first glance, the new 13″ MacBook Pro does not differ from its previous generation in any way and is therefore not that interesting compared to the Air.

Since this new product is already on sale, the experts from iFixit, who are dedicated to repairing devices and analyzing new products, also shed light on it. And they focused on this new laptop in the same way, which they disassembled down to the last screw. But the result was that they slowly did not find even a single difference, aside from the newer chip. For more information about the changes and software locks that this analysis revealed, see the article attached above. However, as we have already mentioned, in principle nothing much has changed and Apple has only used older devices that have been equipped with newer and more powerful components. But the question is, could we have expected anything else?

Changes for 13″ MacBook Pro

Right from the start, it is necessary to mention that the 13″ MacBook Pro is slowly starting to decline and that twice as interesting a product is no longer a Friday. It all started with the arrival of Apple Silicon. Since the same chipset was used in both the Air and Pro models, people's attention was clearly focused on the Air, which was basically available nine thousand cheaper. In addition, it only offered a Touch Bar and active cooling in the form of a fan. Subsequently, there was talk of an early redesign of the MacBook Air. According to the original speculations, it was supposed to offer a Pročka design, a cutout from the redesigned MacBook Pro (2021), and it was also supposed to come in new colors. Relatively all of it has been fulfilled. For this reason, even then, speculations began to appear about whether Apple would completely abandon the 13″ MacBook Pro. As an entry device, the Air will serve perfectly, while for professionals who need a compact laptop, there is the 14″ MacBook Pro (2021).

As we mentioned above, the 13″ MacBook Pro is slowly losing its charm and is thus completely overshadowed by other models from the Apple range. That is precisely why it was not even possible to count on the fact that Apple would decide on any more fundamental redesign of this device. In short and simply, it was already possible to count on the fact that the giant would just take an older and mainly functional chassis and enrich it with newer components. Since Apple has been relying on this design since 2016, it can also be expected that it has quite possibly a pile of unused chassis, which of course is better to use and sell.

The future of the 13″ MacBook Pro

The future of the 13″ MacBook Pro will also be interesting to watch. Apple fans are also talking about the arrival of a larger basic laptop, similar to what is expected in the case of iPhones, where, based on leaks and speculations, the iPhone 14 Max is to be replaced by the iPhone 14 mini. By all accounts, the MacBook Air Max could come this way. However, the question remains whether Apple will not replace the aforementioned "Pročko" with this laptop.
