Sony Pictures' upcoming biopic about Apple co-founder Steve Jobs still doesn't have a confirmed lead actor. Leonardo DiCaprio was one of the choices to portray the late visionary, however, his participation in the film recently officially refused. The studio is currently in talks with another famous actor. The role of Steve Jobs could be taken by Oscar-winning Christian Bale, who shone, for example, in Nolan's Batman trilogy or in the film American Psycho Mary Harron.

The outcome of the negotiations is still unclear, as the studio is also pursuing Bale 20th Century Fox for the movie The Deep Blue Goodbye. According to Variety, production on the Steve Jobs film should begin next spring, after which Bale would move on to produce a second film for Fox, assuming he actually accepts the role of the late visionary.

The film will be directed by Danny Boyle (Slumdog Millionaire, Transpotting), screenplay by Aaron Sorkin (The Social Network, A Few Good Guys). In the past, it was speculated that David Fincher should shoot the film, but he ultimately turned down the role of director. The film will consist of three long scenes, each of which will take place behind the scenes before the launch of one of the products Jobs was involved in: the Macintosh, the NeXT computer and the iPod.
