It's been a year since Apple's September Keynote, where the company introduced the iPhone 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max, along with the iPhone 14 and 14 Plus, the Apple Watch Series 8 and the Apple Watch Ultra. Even though we knew a lot about him even before the performance, he managed to surprise us. It can be no different with the iPhone 15. However, let's summarize what year the iPhone 14 Pro (Max) actually was.

Dynamic Islands

Even though there were more of those news, two stood out above the rest. It was a 48 MPx camera and a Dynamic Island element that replaced the notch. There is still interference with the display, but it looks more elegant. In addition, Apple came up with its added functionality, which made many jaws drop while watching the Keynote. The Dynamic Island was what everyone wanted, and that's why the Pro models went wild.

The funny thing about the iPhone's front-facing camera element was how effectively it worked with the environment. However, even if the better Android phones only have a minimalist shot, there was still a developer who was able to develop an application that replaces Dynamic Island on this competing platform. And it worked quite well, although of course no one cares anymore. But it actually came a year ago even before the Pro models went on sale, which ensured the developer himself unceasing fame for at least a week.

Cameras

Apple did it again in its own way. When the world was crying out for him to move on from 12MPx resolution, he did, but not in the way many would have liked. By default, the iPhone 14 Pro still only takes 12MP photos, but only if you shoot in ProRAW format can you use the full 48MP. However, the cameras were still interesting.

If we rely on the evaluation metrics of the DXOMark test, the iPhone 14 Pro (Max) received 4th place in it. But if we look at the ranking now, we will find that many newer photomobiles did not manage to jump it. He fell by only four places, when he is currently eighth. After a year of existence on the market, this is a very good result. Galaxy S23 Ultra is 14th, iPhone 13 Pro (Max) 11th, Huawei P60 Pro leads.

Problems in China

Perhaps also because the iPhone 14 brought so many innovations that you could count on the fingers of one hand and the iPhone 14 Plus was delayed by a month, people went for the Pro models. But at the least opportune moment, Apple went wrong, what could go wrong. COVID-19 struck again, in China and the Foxconn factory there, where the iPhone 14 Pro was being assembled. For zero tolerance, it shut down completely and took extreme lag.

It simply meant that delivery times stretched to months, which you simply don't want in the run-up to Christmas. The fact that Apple then had nothing to sell cost him an incredible amount of money until the situation stabilized at the end of January. But the whole situation pushed him to diversify at least part of the production more. After China, they are betting on India. So the saying clearly applies here: "Every cloud has a silver lining."

Where is the new color?

Spring came, the market situation was already stable, and Apple introduced the new color of the iPhone 14 and 14 Plus, which was a pleasant and bright yellow. However, the iPhone 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max did not receive anything. Apple probably didn't need to come up with an enticing new color option, because the Pro models still sold well precisely because of the hunger that Christmas couldn't satisfy. So we still only have four colors with which the phones were introduced, where the slightly more exclusive one is maybe just so dark purple.

Satellite SOS

While we still have a lot of ambiguity here (like how much the service will actually cost), we have just as many mentions of how the service has saved lives all over the world. Nevertheless, satellite SOS is also present in basic iPhones, so the Pro models certainly do not claim all the glory here. In addition, the coverage where the service is available is also slowly expanding and is even already in Europe. We'll see if we get any updated information on today's Keynote, but it sure would be easy. All those cases simply show that it makes sense.
