To reunite director David Fincher and screenwriter Aaron Sorkin, who together created the successful picture The Social Network the creation of Facebook will probably not happen. There has been talk that Fincher might direct another film with a similar cut about Steve Jobs, but the famous director is said to be demanding too much money.

A film about Steve Jobs based on his biography by Walter Isaacson is being produced by Sony Pictures, and the screenplay for the film is said to be finished by Aaron Sorkin. However, it is still not clear who will direct the film, which should have three half-hour parts that will reveal what happened before the important keynotes. The David Fincher option seems to fall through because Fincher has excessive financial demands, writes Hollywood Reporter.

Fincher is reportedly asking for a hefty $10 million (almost 200 million crowns) and at the same time would like to have control over marketing, which Sony Pictures does not like. Sony has already given Fincher considerable control over the film's marketing Men Who Hate Women (The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo), but this time it is not such a blockbuster.

A source with ties to Sony Pictures says that the possibility of hiring Fincher has not yet been finalized, but the $10 million figure is absurdly high. "They aren't Transformers, it's not Captain America. This is about quality, it doesn't ooze commercialism. He should be rewarded for success, but not in advance,” the source told Pro Hollywood Reporter.

In the sequence of the second film about Steve Jobs, even Christian Bale, whom Fincher was supposed to push for the lead role, will probably not appear, and there will probably not be a renewal of the successful collaboration between Fincher, Sorkin and producer Scott Rudin, who on The Social Network also worked. Neither Sony nor Fincher have yet commented on the matter.
