The long-promised has become a reality. Revolut finally started supporting Apple Pay today. The service also works for users in the Czech Republic, although for now to a limited extent. It is even possible to add virtual cards, which can be created within a second in the application. Thanks to Revolut, Apple Pay can be used by practically everyone, without the need to change banks. And because he has Revolut review very good, it would be a shame not to use it.
Revolut has been promising Apple Pay support for at least more than a year. However, it wasn't until May that things got moving, and at the RevRally conference in London, representatives of the fintech startup they announced, that they will offer Apple Pay to their users during June, although the exact date was not specified. Support was promised for a total of 15 countries, including the Czech Republic.
In the end, Revolut managed everything a little earlier and offers Apple Pay from today. The proof is not only the description of the application update to version 5.49 in the App Store, but also the experience of users who report successfully adding a card from Revolut to the Wallet application on iPhone, Apple Watch, iPad and Mac. A big advantage is that even virtual cards generated directly in the application are supported.
But not everyone was so lucky and managed to activate the card for Apple Pay payments. A number of users report problems especially with Mastercard cards, for which Revolut, according to information on the forum adds support gradually. In the Czech Republic, those who were among the first to order it when Revolut entered the Czech Republic were generally able to add the card – because the startup initially sent cards issued in Great Britain, where Apple Pay is officially supported as of this morning.
However, the initial problems should be overcome soon. Apart from the information in the application description, neither Revolut nor Apple have yet officially announced Apple Pay support. 100% functionality is thus expected in the coming days, although for many the service is already working without problems.
Revolut for those whose bank doesn't support Apple Pay
Revolut's Apple Pay support will be especially appreciated by those whose banking institutions do not offer the service. Revolut can be used without fees and even a payment card can be ordered for free as part of frequent promotions. In addition, Revolut works in the form of a prepaid card - you only need to top up funds via a bank account or card, and you only spend the amount you have available. Money transfer from the card to the Revolut account is immediate and the money is fully available immediately.
Updated: As of today (May 30), Revolut officially supports Apple Pay in the Czech Republic as well. It is now possible to add any card to the Wallet via a button directly in the Revolut application. The process is simple, automatic and works with both physical and virtual cards from both Visa and Mastercard associations.
Today, 30.05.2019/XNUMX/XNUMX, they added the option to add both physical and virtual cards to the Wallet directly to the REVOLUT application. So they both work without a problem. Both a physical MasterCard and a virtual VISA Card.
Hello, let me know who managed to add the REVOLUT card to the iPhone (Apple Pay). I have a physical MasterCard card since 01/2019 and a virtual VISA Card since 07/2019, but I haven't been able to add either one yet?
Physical MasterCard from 07/18 could not be added, virtual MasterCard from 07/18 to iPhone yes, but not to AppleWatch. It only managed to add it to the iPhone on the second try. Visa failed to add any.
I've had a physical UK mastercard since 06/16, but last week and today it wouldn't add me to Apple Pay.
The virtual mastercard created today also failed.
(iPhone XS, iOS 12.2, revolut app version 5.49)
Today I managed to add the virtual mastercard created a week ago to Apple Pay - there was an "add to Wallet" button in the app and it went smoothly.
I have an account and a physical card from when it was purely British.
I managed to add VISA, but I created an account when there was no support from the Czech Republic.
Today I received the new premium card ordered on Tuesday, and without changing the region, I added it to apple pay on my iPhone and watch as normal. The same with a virtual card.
I successfully added a virtual Visa card this morning.
