Apple's iAd, the mobile advertising platform, continues to receive favorable reviews from companies whose ads run on the new system, including Unilever's Dove and Nissan.
They report that iAds tend to attract users and retain them much longer than other types of digital advertising. One of the first companies to join the program was Nissan, and it looks like the automaker won't regret it. The company says that customers click on an average of 10 times more than other online ads. "We strongly believe that this is the way to monetize modern advertising," Nissan said.
iAd is a mobile advertising platform developed by Apple for the iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad that allows third parties to embed advertising for developers in their applications. iAd was announced on April 8, 2010 and is part of iOS 4. Advertisers have already spent $60 million since the project was launched.
I think what everyone expected from iAd is slowly being fulfilled…. Engaging ads that are fun, improving the quality of free applications, more choice and, most importantly, developer support. :-)
does anyone know how it is with the remuneration of the developer? what is the cost of one click? or how does it feel?
I'm already looking forward to how things will turn out on iDnes and the discussion will again contain curses and insults, how stupid it is and how it won't catch on :-D
Does anyone have practical experience with iAd?
I've read a lot of articles, but I'm still in a fog...
… and I'll be more honest ;), I don't even understand it!
As an advertiser:
– Can I choose which application it will be embedded into? How do I know that the app allows this?
As a developer:
– You can set the application to use advertising if it is downloaded for free. And if they pay for the full version so there isn't any?
