The next day of the 31st week of this year is upon us in a few hours. Even before you decide to go to bed, you can read our article, in which we look together every day at the news from the IT world that happened during the past day. Today we take a look at how the CEO of Epic Games, the company behind the Fortnite title, took to Apple, then we focus on Gabe Newell's opinion on the upcoming console and finally we inform you about the news in the desktop version of Spotify.

The director of Epic Games has joined Apple

If you're an avid gamer, you're most likely familiar with Epic Games. This company was responsible for the creation of the Fortnite title, which has been in the first places in various popularity charts for a long time. In addition, Epic Games gives away various game titles for free from time to time - recently, for example, Grand Theft Auto V caused the company quite a stir, mainly due to the "unplayability" of GTA Online, in which countless hackers appeared after the giveaway, spoiling the enjoyment of the game . The CEO of Epic Games is Tim Sweeney, who is not afraid to express his opinion in the field of information technology. In one of the latest interviews, Sweeney took a dig at Apple (and Google, too).

You're probably wondering why Tim Sweeney got into these tech giants. There are several reasons in this case. Tim is said to be bothered by the way these companies handle users' personal data and also by the fact that these companies form a monopoly, which inhibits various innovations. But Sweeney has the most problem with the share that Apple takes for each sold application in the App Store, or some item. If you don't know about it, Apple cuts 30% of the price from each pad sold within the App Store. So if the developer sells the application for 100 crowns, he only gets 70 crowns, because 30 crowns goes into Apple's pocket. However, Epic Games, i.e. Fortnite, has much larger profits than a hundred crowns, so it is more or less clear that Sweeney simply does not like this practice. But he is definitely not the only one who does not like this high "cut". In addition, Apple and Google are said to set nonsensical conditions in various cases, making it impossible for other companies to do business.

Gabe Newell and his opinion on upcoming consoles

If you're one of the gamers who still prefer classic computers that you can build yourself over consoles, then 99% of the time you have Steam installed on your computer. It serves as a kind of platform for all kinds of games - under one account you can have several hundred games and at the same time you can fit into the community of players. Gabe Newell, nicknamed GabeN, is behind this platform. In one of the latest interviews that GabeN gave, he comments on the upcoming consoles, the PlayStation 5 and the Xbox Series X. Gabe Newell stated that he is a supporter of the Xbox Series X because, in his words, it is simply better. Of course, he states that he generally prefers classic computers, but if he had to choose between PlayStation and Xbox, he would simply go for the Xbox. We will have to wait for some time for the specific specifications of the upcoming consoles and their performance tests - only then will we be able to determine on paper which console is better in terms of performance. Of course, user preferences are unlikely to change the numbers on paper. You can watch the aforementioned moment in the interview, which I have attached below (3:08).
