In today's modern age, we have at our disposal a wide range of various smart products that make our lives easier on a daily basis. Each of us has a smartphone or a laptop at hand. However, we can very easily find ourselves in a situation where we run out of "juice" in our devices and we have to find a source to recharge them. Fortunately, the first power banks were able to deal with this problem years ago.

Of course, the first versions only managed to power one phone and offered limited functions. But as time went on, the development moved steadily forward. Today, there are many different models on the market that offer, for example, solar charging, the ability to power several devices at the same time, fast charging, and selected products can even revive MacBooks. And we will look at exactly this type today. The Xtorm 60W Voyager power bank is the ultimate solution for all demanding users who require all the above-mentioned features in one. So let's take a look at this product together and talk about its advantages - it's definitely worth it.

Official specification

Before we look at the product itself, let's talk about its official specifications. As for the size, it is definitely not a small one. The dimensions of the power bank itself are 179x92x23 mm (height, width and depth) and weigh 520 grams. But most people are mainly interested in how this model is doing in terms of connectivity and performance. The Xtorm 60W Voyager offers a total of 4 outputs. Specifically, there are two USB-A ports with Quick Charge certification (18W), one USB-C (15W) and the last one, which also functions as an input, is USB-C with 60W Power Delivery. As you might have guessed from the name of the power bank, its total power is 60 W. When we add to all this the total capacity of 26 thousand mAh, it can be immediately clear to us that this is a first-class product. Well, at least according to the specifications - you will find out what the truth is below.

Product packaging: A caress for the soul

All products can theoretically be divided into two groups. Those whose packaging we like to dwell on, and those for which we are primarily concerned with the content. Honestly, I have to say that the Xtorm packaging falls into the first mentioned category. At first glance, I found myself in front of an ordinary box, but it boasts a perfect sense of detail and precision. In the pictures, you can notice that there is a piece of fabric with the company's motto on the right side of the package More energy. As soon as I pulled it, the box opened like a book and revealed the power bank itself, which was hidden behind a plastic film.

After taking the product out of the box, I was again very pleasantly surprised. Inside was a smaller box in which all the parts were perfectly arranged. On the left side, there was also a hollow side where the USB-A/USB-C power cable was hidden along with a nice pendant. So we will not prolong it and we will look directly at the main thing that interests us all, i.e. the power bank itself.

Product design: Robust minimalism without a single flaw

When you hear the word "power bank," the vast majority of us probably think of roughly the same thing. In short, it is an "ordinary" and unremarkable block that does not excite or offend anything. Of course, the Xtorm 60W Voyager is no exception, that is, until you use it for a few days. As I already indicated in the paragraph about the official specifications, the power bank is relatively large, which is of course directly related to its functions. So, if you are looking for a model that you can easily put in your pocket and then use only to charge your phone, the Voyager is definitely not for you.

But let's get back to the design itself. If we take a closer look at the power bank, we can see that all the outputs and input are located on the top side, and on the right we can find other great accessories. This model includes two 11 cm cables. These are USB-C/USB-C, which you can use to power a MacBook, for example, and USB-C/Lightning, which helps you, for example, with fast charging. I'm extremely happy with these two cables, and although it's a small thing, it doesn't mean I have to carry extra cables and worry about forgetting them somewhere. The upper and lower walls of the Voyager are decorated in gray with a soft rubber coating. Personally, I have to admit that it is a very pleasant material and the power bank fits comfortably in my hand, and above all, it does not slip. Of course, nothing is rosy and there is always some mistake. This lies precisely in the mentioned excellent rubber coating, which is extremely susceptible to being crushed and you can easily leave prints on it. As for the sides, they are made of solid plastic and together with the gray walls gave me a great feeling of durability and safety. But we must not forget the LED diode, which is located on the upper wall and indicates the status of the power bank itself.

Xtorm Voyager in action: Meets all your requirements

We have successfully unpacked the product, described it, and can start the expected testing. As I first wanted to look at the capacity of the powerbank itself and what it would really last, I naturally charged it to 100 percent. In our first test, we look at the Voyager in conjunction with the iPhone X and a regular USB-A/Lightning cable. It probably won't surprise anyone here that the charging simply worked and I didn't run into a single problem. However, it became more interesting the moment I reached for the USB-C/Lightning cable. As you all know, using this cable and a sufficiently strong adapter or power bank, you can charge your iPhone from zero to fifty percent within thirty minutes, for example. I tried this charging with two cables. During the first test, I went for the 11cm built-in piece and subsequently chose the Xtorm Solid Blue 100cm product. The result was the same in both cases and the powerbank did not have a single problem with fast charging. What you may be interested in is the power bank's endurance itself. Using it only in conjunction with an Apple phone, I was able to charge my "Xko" about nine times.

Of course, the Xtorm Voyager is not intended for ordinary charging of one iPhone. This is a great product, which is intended for the aforementioned more demanding users, who from time to time need to power several devices at the same time. Four outputs are used for this purpose, which we will now try to load to the maximum. For this reason, I collected the various products and then connected them to the power bank. As you can see in the gallery attached above, these were iPhone X, iPhone 5S, AirPods (first generation) and a Xiaomi phone. All outputs worked as expected and the products were fully charged after a while. As for the powerbank itself, there was still some "juice" left in it, so I had no problem charging it again.

Running out of battery on your Mac? No problem for Xtorm Voyager!

Right at the beginning, I mentioned that power banks have undergone great development during their existence, and selected models can even power a laptop. In this respect, of course, Xtorm Voyager is not far behind and can help you in any situation. This power bank is equipped with the aforementioned USB-C output with 60W Power Delivery, which makes it no problem to power a MacBook. As I am still studying, I travel very often between school and home. At the same time, I entrust all my work to the MacBook Pro 13″ (2019), with which I need to be 100% sure that it will not discharge during the day. Here, of course, I encounter the first problems. Some days I need to edit a video or work with a graphic editor, which of course can take up the battery itself. But can such a "simple box" charge my MacBook?

As some of you may know, a 13W adapter is used in combination with a USB-C cable to power the 61″ MacBook Pro. Many of today's power banks can handle powering laptops, but most of them do not have sufficient power and thus only keep the laptop alive and thus delay its discharge. But if we look at Voyager and its performance, we shouldn't have any problem - which has been confirmed. So I decided to drain my laptop down to about 50 percent, then plug in the Xtorm Voyager. Even though I've continued to do office work (WordPress, Podcasts/Music, Safari and Word), I haven't had a single problem. The power bank was able to charge the MacBook to 100 percent without any problems even while working. Personally, I have to admit that I was extremely excited about the reliability, quality and speed of this power bank and I got used to it very quickly.

záver

If you've made it this far in this review, you probably already know my opinion on the Xtorm 60W Voyager. In my opinion, this is a perfect power bank that will never let you down and offers you a number of options. USB-C with Power Delivery and two USB-A with Quick Charge are definitely worth highlighting, thanks to which you can quickly charge iOS and Android phones. I personally used the powerbank with three products, one of which was the just mentioned Macbook Pro 13″ (2019). Until I had this product, I often had to make various compromises in the form of reduced brightness and others. Fortunately, these problems disappear completely, because I know that you have a product in your backpack that has no problem charging even the laptop itself at speed.

Who is this power bank intended for, who can use it best and who should avoid it? From my own experience, I can recommend the Xtorm 60W Voyager to all users who often move between different locations and need to have all their products charged at all costs. In this regard, I would like to recommend Voyager to university students, for example, who often cannot afford to let their MacBook or other laptop with power via USB-C discharge. Of course, a power bank will not do any harm to people who often travel and need to charge the phones of a whole group of friends at once. If, on the other hand, you are an undemanding user and you only use the power bank occasionally to charge your phone or headphones, then you should avoid this product. You would be excited about the Xtorm Voyager, but you wouldn't be able to use its full potential and it would be a waste of money.
