This week, Apple introduced the full version of its watchOS 7 operating system, alongside iOS and iPadOS 14 and tvOS 14. If you own an Apple Watch, believe me, you will definitely like watchOS 7. You can find out more in the review of this operating system, which you can find below.

Design, dials and complications

In terms of appearance, the watchOS 7 user interface as such has not changed much, but you can notice useful and functional differences, for example, when editing and sharing watch faces. The individual elements are sorted here much more clearly and are easier to add. As for the dials, new features have been added in the form of Typograph, Memoji dial, GMT, Chronograph Pro, Stripes and an artistic dial. I was personally interested in Typograf and GMT, but I will still keep Infograf on the main screen of my Apple Watch. In watchOS 7, the ability to share watch faces via text messages has been added, with the option to share only the watch face or the relevant data. Users will also be able to download new watch faces from the Internet. Apple has also managed to improve the way watch faces are adjusted and complications added.

Sleep tracking

I was curious about the sleep tracking feature, but thought I'd stick with third-party apps, especially for their ability to provide more detailed sleep data or the smart wake-up feature. But in the end, I only use the sleep tracking in watchOS 7. The new feature gives you the option to set the desired length of sleep, the time you go to bed and the time you wake up, and informs you whether you are meeting your sleep goal. If you set a certain alarm time for all weekdays, it is not a problem to change the alarm time easily and quickly once. You can then find all the necessary data in the Health application on the paired iPhone. A great new feature is the ability to activate nighttime by clicking on the appropriate icon in the Control Center, during which all notifications (sounds and banners) will be turned off, and in which you can also incorporate selected actions, such as dimming or turning off the lights, starting the selected application, and more . On the Apple Watch display, nighttime calm will be reflected by muting the display, on which only the current time will be displayed. To deactivate this state, it is necessary to turn the digital crown of the watch.

Hand washing

Another new feature in the watchOS 7 operating system is a function called Handwashing. It should automatically recognize when the user starts to wash his hands. After hand washing is detected, the obligatory twenty second countdown starts, after this time limit the watch "compliments" its wearer. The only downside to this feature is that the watch understandably doesn't distinguish between hand washing and dish washing. With the arrival of the full version of watchOS 7, a new feature was added, in which you can activate a reminder to wash your hands after coming home.

More news

In watchOS 7, the native Exercise received improvements, where "disciplines" such as dancing, strengthening the center of the body, cooling down after exercise and functional strength training were added. Apple Watch has been enriched with an optimized battery charging function, in the Activity app you have the option to adjust not only the movement goal, but also the goal of exercise and getting up - to change the goal, just launch the Activity app on the Apple Watch and scroll all the way down to the Change goals menu on its main screen. The watchOS 7 operating system was tested on the Apple Watch Series 4.
