In addition to the fact that you can follow product reviews from Swissten on our magazine for several months now, here and there some headphone reviews also appear. In today's review, we combine both types of reviews into one and look at the Swissten TRIX headphones. They can interest you with various extra functions that you probably wouldn't expect from headphones - but let's not get ahead of ourselves unnecessarily and let's take a look at everything step by step. So what are Swissten TRIX headphones and are they worth buying? You will learn this and more on the lines below.

Official specification

The Swissten TRIX headphones are small on-ear headphones that do not look interesting at first glance. In reality, however, they are full of various technologies and functions that definitely not every headphone, and certainly not at this price level, will offer you. Swissten TRIX support Bluetooth 4.2, which means they are able to work up to ten meters from the sound source. There are 40 mm drivers inside the headphones, the frequency range of the headphones is classically 20 Hz to 20 KHz, the impedance reaches 32 ohms and the sensitivity reaches 108 dB (+- 3 dB). According to the manufacturer, the battery lasts 6-8 hours, then the charging time is 2 hours. Unfortunately, I couldn't find out how big the battery the headphones have - so we'll have to make do with the time data. Recharging can be done with the included microUSB cable, which plugs into one of the earcups.

Compared to other headphones, Swissten TRIX may interest you with, for example, a built-in FM tuner that can work at frequencies in the range of 87,5 MHz - 108 MHz. This simply means that you can easily tune in to the radio with the help of these headphones, without having to carry your phone with you. If you can't get along with the radio and still don't want to drag your iPhone with you for music, you can use the microSD card connector, which is located on the top of one of the shells. You can insert an SD card up to a maximum size of 32 GB into this connector, which means that you can take care of your music for a long time.

Packing

If you have ever purchased something from Swissten in the past, or if you have already read one of our reviews that dealt with Swissten products, then you certainly know that this company has a specific form of packaging. The colors of the boxes are often matched to white and red - and this case is no different. On the front, there is a transparent window in which you can view the headphones, along with the main features of the headphones. On the back, you will then find the complete specifications of the headphones, including an illustration of the controls and the use of the built-in AUX connector. After opening the box, in addition to the Swissten TRIX headphones, you can look forward to a charging microUSB cable and an English manual.

Processing

If we take into account the price of the headphones, which comes to around 600 crowns after the discount, we get a product that fully corresponds. By my standards, the headphones are really quite small - to put them on my head, I have to use practically the entire "expandability" of the headphones. But the good news is that the head part of the headphones is reinforced inside with aluminum tape, which at least adds a little to the durability of the headphones. Otherwise, of course, you can simply fold the headphones together for easy portability so that they take up as little space as possible. The part wrapped in leatherette, which is supposed to stick to your head, will definitely please you. The shells are also processed with no less quality, into which, due to the size of the headphones, you do not insert your ears, but place them on top of them.

The connectivity of the headphones and their controls are interesting. In addition to the already mentioned FM radio and SD card connector, the headphones also have a classic AUX, with which you can either connect the headphones to the device by wire, or you can use it to stream music to other headphones. Next to the AUX connector is the charging microUSB port together with the headphone power button. The controller solution, which resembles a gear wheel, is very interesting. By turning it up and down, you can skip songs or tune into another FM station. If you press this wheel and start turning it up or down at the same time, you change the volume. And the last option is a simple press, with which you can dial the last number called or answer an incoming call. It follows that the headphones have a built-in microphone that you can use both for calls and for voice commands.

Personal experience

I have to say that at first touch the earphones do not seem to be very high-quality and you need to "break them up". Changing the size of the headphones is quite difficult for the first few moves, but then the rails diverge and changing the size is much easier. Since the headphones are plastic and are only reinforced with aluminum, you can't expect god knows what durability - in short, if you decide to break them, you will break them without any problems. Due to the fact that my head is a bit bigger and I had the headphones stretched practically to the maximum, the earcups did not fit perfectly in the lower part of my ears. Because of this, I was more aware of the surrounding sounds and I didn't enjoy the music as much as I could have. Unfortunately, this is more the fault of my head than of the manufacturer himself.

As for the sound of the headphones themselves, they won't surprise you, but on the other hand, they certainly won't offend you either. Sonically, these are average headphones that don't have any significant bass, and if you don't start playing music with abnormal levels, you won't run into problems. For the music of today's generation, the Swissten TRIX headphones are more than sufficient. They can play any modern music without any problems. The only time I encountered the problem was when the music paused - a slight noise can be heard in the background in the headphones, which after a long time is not very pleasant. As for endurance, I got 80 and a half hours with the volume set to about 6% of the maximum, which corresponds to the manufacturer's claim.

záver

If you're looking for simple headphones and don't want to spend thousands of crowns on them, the Swissten TRIX will certainly be enough for you. In addition to classic Bluetooth playback, it also offers SD card input along with a built-in FM radio. Just pay attention to the size of your head - if you are one of those with a larger head, the headphones may not fit you completely. The sound and processing of the headphones is very acceptable considering the price, and in terms of comfort, I don't have a single complaint - my ears don't hurt even after a long time wearing the headphones. In addition, you can choose from three color versions - black, silver and pink.
