Few applications from a Czech workshop have such ambitions for success as a game Soccerinho – Prague 1909 from Digital Life Production. The protagonist of the engaging story is an eight-year-old boy from the street who has only one dream - to become a football legend.

Many boys his age certainly have such dreams, but as we will find out from introductory video, our hero had the opportunity to get closer to his dream than anyone else, because he fished out a leather ball from Čertovka and could start training. The opening trailer, colored by Majko Spirit's music, immediately draws you into the game, which is set in the early 20th century.

Soccerinho we had the opportunity to test for several days, but even after about twelve hours of pure time, we could not finish the game. The result was just a knitted Christmas tree on both hands, because becoming a legend is a long way to go. That is also why the authors conceived the game on a very broad scale. After the trailer ends, you take over the reins of the game.

The game has a total of five episodes. The first episode is called Josefov I. and takes place in the backyard of the boy's home. It is divided into three sub-chapters (mini-games if you want) in which you have to fulfill different objectives. Each subsection is further divided into 12 progressively more difficult levels. In the beginning, it is logical that you need to train properly before you start any bigger actions, so we will start with something simpler, such as a clothes knocker. You know, you want to kick it with the boys and something gets in the way of the laundry knocker that you regularly make a goal from. Sometimes it's a wooden barrel, other times it's a dilapidated ladder, and sometimes a combination of everything.

Control is quite simple. You move your character towards the ball either with the directional joystick in the lower left corner or with the gyroscope. When you stand further from the ball, a red circle around it indicates that you will shoot a bigger shot. If you get closer, a green circle indicates a more technical attempt. You then perform the actual shooting by dragging your finger from the ball towards the target (you don't have to start directly on the ball with your finger, just drag anywhere on the display), which allows you to aim and also add a fake to the ball.

The second subsection is similar. However, here you are already shooting at more accurate targets with a higher need for aiming precision, you can even play "basketball" here. I was a little afraid that after a while the different levels would be very similar, but the opposite is true. This is confirmed, for example, by the third sub-chapter, which probably excited me the most. Here you are facing your friend in penalty kicks. To make it not so easy, the distances change or there is always an obstacle.

The second episode is called Josefov II. and includes only one sub-chapter called Street Soccer. In this episode, you will already move to the area of the streets of the city of old Prague and play football with your two friends. To be specific, it is again a kind of penalty kicking, but in a different spirit. One of your friends stands in the goal (more precisely, between two tees) and the other tries to block your attempts to score a goal. If you delay the shot for a moment, it will calmly slide into you and kick the balloon. The interactivity takes off in this passage.

The game is completely wrapped in a 3D coat. Her atmosphere is really great. Even such small things as a broken window will please you, which will reward you with a fun animation of how the owner of the house bends you over the knee and properly punishes you. Even the sentences your friends blurt out while playing are fun and really fit the game. Although Soccerinho is not localized into Czech, at least only primitive English is used in the game.

The principle of playing is simple. You will receive points for each shot that ends up in the "net". These must give you the minimum number of points in total to get 3 stars in order to advance to a higher level. However, this rule does not apply everywhere.

The above-mentioned rule is violated in the very next episode called Josefov III. In the first subsection of this episode, you will play golf. Don't worry, it's not golf per se. In each progressive level, you have several kicks, with the help of which you have to weave through the streets of old Prague to the prepared place. Don't worry about getting lost in the streets. Everything is clearly marked with red arrows and the target "holes", as in golf, have flags. In the second sub-chapter, called Billiard, your passage through the city is made more difficult by the fact that you always shoot down a certain number of milk jugs in the streets.

The penultimate, fourth episode takes place on the historical site, Charles Bridge. You can relax a bit on it, the level of difficulty is a little lower here, but this certainly does not mean that you can handle everything left-handed. The last episode is called Na Kampě, where, among other things, you will shoot clothes from lines or stray cats from roofs, i.e. something new again, so the game will not look back even after hours of playing. After playing the final episode, a surprise awaits every little football player.

Soccerinho was a highly anticipated game title for iOS (universal version for iPhone and iPad), moreover, with a Czech developer footprint, and thus all the more popular in our country. And the result is wonderful. Currently, it is a super fun game with beautiful graphics in an interesting environment. It's surprising how much effort and ideas the developers have put into one game, which with each chapter and level comes with new inventions and constantly entertains. Anyone who has already completed a football marathon around old Prague has no choice but to wait for the next part of Soccerinha, which studio Digital Life Production is preparing and should be released later this year. However, we will move from the Czech Republic to America.
