Pudding Monsters is the second major title of the developer studio ZeptoLab, so we can understand it as a continuation of the highly successful game Cut the Rope. While at first glance it might seem that Pudding Monsters is just as great, it loses a bit when it comes to cutting the ropes. Still, you can have a lot of fun with them.

In the fall of 2010, he invaded the title Cut the Rope hit the App Store like a hurricane and still maintains its popularity, mainly thanks to the constant addition of new levels that compel users to play again and again. After more than two years and a sequel Cut the Rope: Experiments decided at ZeptoLab that they needed to come up with something new - and released Pudding Monsters.

The game, whose main characters are pudding and jelly monsters, is based on the same principles as the aforementioned Cut the Rope. You get points, bonuses and new monsters and objects for the number of logical levels through which you gradually fight your way.

Pudding Monsters is a classic puzzle that can partially resemble the legendary Tetris. Pudding monsters are scattered on the playing field in the form of "jelly cubes" and you have to connect them to each other. You can move monsters in four basic directions. Whichever way you send the monster with your finger, that's where it will go until an object or another monster stops it.

If they encounter another monster, they merge together and you continue to control them as one. However, simply connecting gelatinous parts, each of which winks at you with its own eye, would be too simple. Therefore, it is necessary to create such a monster that will stand on three selected squares with a star. And the task is clear - collect three stars in each level.

You can get the hang of the controls and the entire game in just a few seconds. After that, you just go through individual levels and come across new traps and obstacles. New types of monsters also appear, so you'll gradually come across, for example, a green pudding mass that creates a sticky track that catches your monsters before they fall off the board. When any part of the pudding leaves the screen, you have to repeat the level.

The concept of Pudding Monsters is therefore very similar to that of Cut the Rope, but after playing for some time you will find that the gelatin monsters are missing something. It's definitely not the graphical execution that's as precise as Cut the Rope, but Pudding Monsters just couldn't pull me into the story that much. In fact, I went through the currently available 75 levels in just under two hours without blinking an eye, often all I had to do was try the trial and error method, move my finger a few times and the puzzle was solved.

It is questionable if ZeptoLab is planning slightly harder levels for the next updates, but it is true that the options here are much smaller than in Cut the Rope. But once you've completed all the levels in Puddings Monsters to three stars, you can play them again and try to get other numbers of stars as well - two, one, or even none. If you achieve all possible variants in a given level, you get a crown. An interesting option for extending the playing time.
