If you buy an Apple Watch, you get a charging cable, currently with USB-C on one side and a cradle on the other. However, if you often travel, or if you simply need to charge your Apple Watch elsewhere than just at home, then carrying a charging cable is definitely not an ideal solution. You can thus purchase another original charging cable, which, however, costs CZK 890, which is quite a lot. This is precisely why various cheaper alternatives have been created, such as those from Swissten, which we will look at in this review.

Specifically, Swissten offers three types of charging cables for Apple Watch. The first of them is a classic USB-A charging cable, the second offers USB-C and the third also has USB-C, but in addition to the charging cradle, it also offers a Lightning connector with which you can also charge the iPhone. All of these charging cables will provide a maximum charging power of 3 watts for the Apple Watch, while the last mentioned cable can provide a charging power of 5 watts for the Lightning. Packing
All Apple Watch charging cables from Swissten are packaged identically. So you can look forward to a traditional white-red box, on the front of which there is a picture of the product itself, together with basic information. On the back you will find the instructions for use, so there is no extra paper inside the box. After opening the box, just pull out the bag in which the charging cable itself is already hidden. Just pull it out and start using it right away.

Processing
As for the processing, it tries to be as close as possible to the original cable from Apple. The color is therefore completely white, and you will find the Swissten branding on the USB-A or USB-C connector. The velcro attached directly to the cable is absolutely great, which you can use to easily roll up and secure the excess length of the cable. This velcro is also white in color and has Swissten branding on it. The charging cradle itself is of course plastic and looks and feels exactly the same as the original one. The cable is a bit more rubbery than the original charging cable, in any case it is definitely not a special advantage. The length of all three cables is 1,2 meters, with the cable with Lightning and charging cradle divided into two parts about 10 centimeters before the end. The bifurcation is then ensured in a small plastic package, which also bears the Swissten branding and does not interfere in any way.

Personal experience
I used Swissten's Apple Watch charging cables for about two weeks and gradually replaced them. From the point of view of personal experience, I can say that the watch using the Swissten charging cables charges a little slower than using the original solution. But if you charge your Apple Watch overnight, like me, then this will definitely not bother you. On the other hand, what bothers me a little is the slightly lower magnet strength of the charging cradle, which can cause the Apple Watch to simply not be positioned correctly at the beginning, before you get used to it, and thus charging will not occur. But it is necessary to think that these are cables that are more than half the price, so I think I can definitely forgive them for this. Otherwise, I had no problem charging the Apple Watch Series 4, no dropouts, heating or any other issues.

In case you are looking for a cheap replacement for charging cables for Apple Watch, because for example you often travel or commute between several different places, I think the solution from Swissten is very interesting. The reviewed charging cables are made of very high quality and you practically have no chance of distinguishing them from the original, that is, except for a few small things.
