You've probably already found yourself in a situation where you needed to connect a cable or accessory to a device, but you simply couldn't because the end was simply different from the connector. If you want to be sure that you always connect everything to everything, you must be armed with all kinds of cables, especially if you also use Apple products. The most used connectors currently include USB-A, USB-C and Lightning, with the fact that there are really many cables with different combinations of terminals.

Official specification

However, it is precisely now that Swissten mini adapters come "into play", thanks to which you get the certainty of connecting everything to everything. Specifically, Swissten offers a total of four types of mini adapters:

  • Lightning (M) → USB-C (F) with a transfer speed of up to 480 MB/s
  • USB-A (M) → USB-C (F) with a transfer speed of up to 5 GB/s
  • Lightning (M) → USB-A (F) with a transfer speed of up to 480 MB/s
  • USB-C (M) → USB-A (F) with a transfer speed of up to 5 GB/s

So whether you own a Mac or a computer, an iPhone or an Android phone, an iPad or a classic tablet or any other device, when you purchase the right mini adapter, you will no longer have a problem connecting to each other or simply connecting various accessories or peripherals. The price of each adapter is CZK 149, but traditionally, you can use a discount code with which each adapter will cost you CZK 134.

Packing

As for the packaging, we don't have much to say in this case. Mini adapters are located in a small box in a white-red design, which is typical for Swissten. On the front, you will always find the adapter itself depicted with basic information, including the exact marking, transmission speeds and maximum power for charging, and on the back there is an instruction manual, which probably none of us will read. After opening the box, just pull out the plastic carrying case from which you can peel off the mini adapter and start using it. You won't find anything else in the package.

Processing

All Swissten mini adapters are processed practically identically, except of course the ends themselves. You can therefore look forward to high-quality processing from gray galvanized aluminum, which is durable and simply universal. Swissten branding is also found on each adapter, and there are "dots" on the sides, which will make it easier to pull the adapter out of the connector. All adapters weigh around 8 grams, the dimensions are around 3 x 1.6 x 0.7 centimeter, of course depending on the type of adapter. This means that the adapters will definitely not get carried away and, above all, they will not take up a lot of space, so they will fit into any pocket of your backpack or a bag for carrying a MacBook or other laptop.

Personal experience

Adapters, hubs, reducers - call them what you want, but you can definitely tell me that we cannot do without them these days. There is a gradual flash of better times, as Apple should finally bury USB-C next year, but most older iPhones with a Lightning connector will still be in circulation, so reductions will continue to be needed. As for USB-C, it is becoming more and more widespread and is already a standard, in any case, USB-A will definitely exist for some time, so even in this case we need reductions. Personally, I have been using larger portable hubs for a long time, but these miniature adapters fit easily in my portable bag. I have absolutely no idea about them and when I need them, they are simply there.

Such Lightning (M) → USB-C (F) you can use the adapter, for example, to connect a USB-C flash drive to an iPhone, or to charge it using a USB-C cable. Adapter USB-A (M) → USB-C (F) I personally used it to connect a new Android phone to an older computer that only had USB-A. Lightning (M) → USB-A (F) then you can use it to connect a traditional flash drive or other accessories to the iPhone, USB-C (M) → USB-A (F) you can then use the adapter to connect older accessories to a Mac, or to charge a newer Android phone with a classic USB-A cable. And these are just a few of the many examples where Swissten mini adapters can come in handy.
