Nowadays, it doesn't pay much to carry your devices without a cover. Some may suggest that you are "stepping" on the product design with a cover or other protective element, but due to the prices of repairs or the devices themselves, some prevention is in order. Nowadays, it is no problem to get a cover for an iPhone, iPad, MacBook or even an Apple Watch. I got my hands on a cover for the Apple Watch Series 7 from PanzerGlass, which offers interesting features and an unobtrusive design. But is it really worth it?

Package contents and technical specifications

As this is an Apple Watch cover, the box is very small and unobtrusive. The cover arrives in a thin cardboard box, on the front of which you can see the design of the cover as well as a list of some technical specifications. In the box, in addition to the cover, you will find a microfiber cleaning cloth and a wrapped wet wipe. We'll stick with the technical specifications we've already discussed. This is a protective cover which, in addition to the front side, also covers the sides. PanzerGlass reliably protects against impact. In addition, it is coated with an oleophobic layer, so fingerprints do not remain on it. The display does not affect the sensitivity of the display and, above all, does not prevent the use of any functions. The material is polycarbonate.

First deployment

As you can see immediately after unpacking, the cover is sealed with an opaque film on the front and back. Just follow the manual that you will find in the box. First, you need to thoroughly clean the display, with a drop of water and a microfiber cloth being sufficient. I would save the wet wipe from the package for later. Then you tear off the foils and put them on. It's nothing difficult. Always fit away from the crown. It may happen that you have to push a little for strength from the other side. But there is no need to worry about any kind of scratching or other damage.

Own use

In my opinion, this cover is suitable not only for sports, but also for everyday wear. His intervention in watch design is not so striking. And if you get a dark belt, I dare say that the result will not look bad at all. However, I currently only use the cover for sports. Since I go jogging and it's still quite cold outside, I have gloves on. Unfortunately, I have Velcro gloves and I can't fit the gloves in place of the watch. So what happens is that the velcro rubs against the watch, which would probably lead to some possibility of damage to the display sooner or later. In this respect, I cannot praise the cover from PanzerGlass enough. I also quite like the fact that you can comfortably use the watch in the cover. Sure, there are some limitations. If you want to spin the crown, you won't make too much of a movement per movement due to the housing. But it's a small tax. After playing sports, you simply remove the cover and put it on the shelf. Some dust will probably stick to it, which you can easily solve with a drop of water and a microfiber cloth. As for using the display itself, I was quite skeptical. But there is absolutely no problem here, and over time you won't even realize that there is a cover on the watch. But the cover also has its ailments. It is easy for liquid to get under it. Then it is necessary to remove the cover and dry it, as the watch becomes uncontrollable at that moment.
