If you are one of the owners of Apple Watch, then you will surely tell me the truth when I say that it is really easy to damage them. The basic version of the Apple Watch, which is available in the Czech Republic, has a body made of soft aluminum. Abroad, it is possible to purchase an Apple Watch with a much more durable chassis, which can be made of steel or titanium. Whether you buy a steel or titanium Apple Watch, it doesn't change anything on the display, which is the same in all cases. The vast majority of us in our country own the "weakest" Apple Watch with an aluminum chassis. Just like the iPhone, we try to protect our Apple Watch in several ways.

Apple watches can primarily be protected with classic film or tempered glass - you could read about them in our magazine in the past PanzerGlass Performance Solutions tempered glass review, which passed with flying colours. However, only the display can be protected in this way, which is essential, but it is not 100% protection. In order to protect the Apple Watch chassis, it is then necessary to reach for a cover or cover that surrounds the Apple Watch. But the truth is that these all kinds of covers often don't get along with glued glasses, which can cause a problem. Now PanzerGlass comes with a brand new solution in the form of the Full Body Protection product, which can protect both the Apple Watch display and their body at the same time, very simply. One such cover arrived at our editorial office and we will look at it together with the other lines of this review.

Official specification

As I mentioned above, and as the name suggests, PanzerGlass Full Body Protection protects both the display of your Apple Watch and its body - and it doesn't matter if it's made of aluminum or steel. The display is protected by high-quality tempered glass that is resistant to scratches and impacts. With some similar covers or tempered glasses, you may find that the watch display reacts poorly to pressure after sticking, which does not happen in this case. In addition to the fact that this "guarantee" is stated by the manufacturer himself, I can also confirm this from my own experience, which I will talk about below.

In the current and continuing current coronavirus situation, you will also be pleased to know that the protective glass has a special layer that meets the ISO 22196 certification. This guarantees the destruction of practically all bacteria, in the same way as with PanzerGlass tempered glasses for smartphones. However, this special layer cannot last forever on the glass. In the beginning, it will certainly be the strongest, but gradually it will start to "wash away", which must be taken into account. As for the glass, it should be mentioned that it does not stick to the watch display in any way, even though it may seem so at first. The glass itself is therefore only "laid" on the display. This means for the user that the cover can be easily removed at any time and then put back on.

The chassis of the watch is protected by a plastic frame. The variant with a black frame arrived at the editorial office, however, a variant with a clear frame is also available. The cover itself is made of plastic, which is relatively resistant to the touch. In addition, you will be able to easily mask all scratches on it. This is because it is a special "rubberized" plastic on which scratches and other imperfections can be "polished" simply by circular movements of the finger. The plastic frame protecting the chassis is just the right size. This means that, on the one hand, it manages to protect the Apple Watch, and on the other hand, you practically don't even notice it on the watch. The glass is firmly connected to the frame and the entire surface of the display is visible - so nothing is covered. The price of the PanzerGlass Full Body Protection cover is the same for all color and size variants, namely 799 crowns.

Packing

The PanzerGlass Full Body Protection cover is hidden in a small and stylish box, which is completely typical for PanzerGlass products. On the front, you will find the product itself depicted, together with the Apple Watch and the main specifications, which we discussed in the opening part of this review. There is not much else on the box. This gives us access to the insides of the package - after cutting the "seal", just pull the orange strip with the PanzerGlass branding and pull out all the contents of the package. In particular, you can look forward to the next box, which already contains the PanzerGlass Full Body Protection for your Apple Watch itself. In addition, in the package you will find a cleaning set for cleaning the display before installing the cover, as well as cards with non-essential information and a manual for use. After extracting all the content, you can then notice a pictorial procedure that advises you how to properly install the cover on the Apple Watch.

Installation

As for the installation of the cover itself, it is definitely not complicated. Again, I note that the PanzerGlass Full Body Protection does not stick to the Apple Watch display, but only attaches it. Even so, it is necessary to first thoroughly clean the display using the included cloths, so that there are no impurities on it that could negatively affect the user experience. After cleaning, simply remove the protective film from the tempered glass. Next, take the cover, place it on your Apple Watch, and then push down on the right side where the button and digital crown are located. Then push the opposite side, i.e. the left side, which will go smoothly since there is nothing on it, i.e. except for the holes for the speaker. If any dirt got under the protective glass, carefully remove the cover from the Apple Watch and remove the dirt with a cleaning product or a Dust Remover sticker.

Personal experience and testing

With a product like PanzerGlass Full Body Protection, the potential buyer is primarily interested in personal experience and testing. I've had the PanzerGlass Full Body Protection at home for a few long weeks now, and I have to admit that I haven't had this cover on my watch the entire time. However, it wasn't because the cover didn't suit me or that I didn't like it. Personally, I just like the original design of the Apple Watch, and if I'm carrying an iPhone in a case, I try to at least use the Apple Watch without it, of course if it's safe to do so. So I put on the PanzerGlass Full Body Protection cover whenever my watch was in danger of being damaged, in my case when working in the garden and on the car.

This brings us to the first test that the PanzerGlass Full Body Protecion has passed with flying colors – the ability to easily remove and reattach it. When putting it back on, it was only always necessary for me to thoroughly clean the watch display. The process of removing and putting on the cover is a matter of about five seconds. As for the durability of the reviewed cover, I can say that I am very surprised. When working in the garden, the cover was mainly exposed to dirt, and it is important that it did not get under the cover itself or under the display. The cover holds the Apple Watch really tightly and tightly, it was only necessary to get the clay out of the holes for the speakers and buttons on the right side after work.

Personally, I am very "lucky" in that I often manage to mercilessly bang somewhere with the Apple Watch, or that something bangs into it. And as it happens, it most often happens when neither the glass nor the cover is applied to the watch. Since I've been "fiddling" with the car for the last few days, I thought it would be nice to put on PanzerGlass Full Body Protection as a precaution. Of course, practically everything in the motor part is made of metal, so I managed to hit or bang the watch hard against something metal several times. Even in such extreme situations, I simply do not take off my Apple Watch. And I think if I didn't have the PanzerGlass Full Body Protection on these days, I'd be ordering a new Apple Watch right now because the original one would be ruined. In my original test, the reviewed cover passed the test. Although there are already some traces of fighting on it, it still holds and fulfills its function.

záver

If you are looking for a quality cover for your Apple Watch, you should definitely at least look at PanzerGlass Full Body Protection. It is a plastic cover that is rigidly connected to the tempered glass. This means that by purchasing a single product, you get virtually complete protection against possible damage to your Apple Watch. In addition, you don't even have to deal with the fact that some tempered glass won't fit with the chassis cover. PanzerGlass Full Body Protection can be removed or reattached at any time within a few seconds. The only slight downside I see is that the tempered glass is really inseparably connected to the cover, so if you break it, you'll have to buy the whole product again - so you can't buy the glass separately. However, I personally think that you would have to try really hard to break the protective glass of the Apple Watch display. I can definitely recommend PanzerGlass Full Body Protection to you, that is, if you are looking for complete protection for your Apple Watch at an affordable price and in the excellent quality that PanzerGlass has always offered.
