At WWDC21 in June, Apple showed us its most advanced mobile system iOS 15, designed for iPhone 6S and later. Yesterday, on September 20, after three months of testing not only by developers but also by public beta testers, he released a sharp version that is currently available to the general public. It is certainly worth updating, there are quite a few new items, but whether they will appeal to you is a question.

It's about speed

The good news is that the iOS 11 situation is not happening. So the reliability of iOS 15 is at a high level for the time being and it does not happen that you witness the environment getting stuck, apps crashing, phones restarting, etc. Of course, it depends on the iPhone model on which you are using the new feature, but within the GM version there were none in the system at first view of visible errors, therefore there is no reason for them to be found in the sharp one as well. Apple has apparently taken to heart the wishes of users who wanted stability above all from the new version of iOS. Whether iOS 15 will have an effect on the battery remains to be seen with longer use.

It's also about functions

The iOS operating system is constantly adding new and new features that, in my opinion, are used by fewer and fewer users (in my judgment and by myself). Apple is thus in a rather difficult situation - it needs to show everyone that it can come up with new and unique functions, but since its iPhones can already do everything that an ordinary user might need, it has a rather difficult time engaging the general public.

It is currently trying to drive it through productivity, i.e. efficiency, when it brings a mode in iOS 15 Concentration. While it has its positives, I can't shake the impression that it's a combination of Do Not Disturb and Screen Time, but driven in a slightly different direction. That is, targeting those users who were not impressed by any of the above functions. They say it is "Third time lucky", so hopefully it will work out for him this time.

From my perspective, I see the announcement as a necessary evil. That's why I'm glad it's redesigned sannouncement summary takes their management to the next level and finally delivers them in a usable format. Although again, complexity over complexity is bought here. This is in the form of "urgent notifications" that can come even outside the set time, even if you have any "silent" mode activated. The days when iOS was simple and intuitive are long gone.

Photo details:

Live text looks great if you find a use for it. News in Safari then it will please all those who use this web browser as their main one, which also applies to Maps. Personally, I use Chrome and Google Maps, so unfortunately. News they further expand the capabilities of already captured features, and that's definitely a good thing. It is a pleasure to use the function Shared with you, across the entire system. In connection with this, Apple also updated the application Fotky. Memories thus received a new and, in my opinion, more usable interface, finally we also got to display metadata for photos.

More and more allegorical cars

If I look at other major news, yes Hello, I'll open it once a month, how many steps I walked that day. Weather I only open it sporadically, because I prefer to look out the window to see how it really is, there are better applications for a detailed forecast. O Crab there is no need to elaborate if he still does not know Czech. A clear shift can be seen in the frame Sprivacy, where Apple is very involved and it's only good. The same can be said about Disclosure.

FaceTime with non-Apple device users:

The coronavirus pandemic then showed the power of remote communication, therefore all the news contained in Facetim are a definite benefit. In addition, the other party does not have to use Apple products. It handles the call even on an Android or Windows device in the web interface, which is simply commendable. Next time, however, it would need a separate application, especially as far as iMessage is concerned. But I doubt that I will live and I will still communicate with androidists via WhatsApp.

All's well that ends well

While the entire text above may sound rather negative, it really shouldn't be. Apple just didn't quite hit my mark. The new features are really rewarding if you can find your way to them. If not, it doesn't really matter and you can safely ignore them. But no one can say that Apple is not innovating and that it is not trying. From a personal point of view, it is still leaps and bounds ahead of Android, and if you use the company's complex ecosystem, you get more from the interconnectedness. In addition, when Apple releases macOS 12 to us.

How to view an interactive globe in Maps in iOS 15:

There is practically no reason not to recommend the update and stay on iOS 14. In addition, as of the date of writing the article, there are no known fundamental system errors that would limit its users in any way. Now I'd just like to focus on better integration and overall work with the Files app and adding a sound manager. Then I will probably be fully satisfied.
