Loyal readers of our magazine certainly did not miss it about two months ago review electric scooters Kaabo Skywalker 10H. My colleague gave this electric scooter a very positive review, and given that I had the opportunity to try it out at the time, I can only confirm his words. However, to be honest, electric scooters have never appealed to me in any way. From the position of a passionate driver, I perceived them as a certain "evil" that, if used dangerously, can cause a traffic accident with fatal consequences. In the end, I couldn't do it anyway, and after a long time I decided to give electric scooters a chance. After a short search, I took a look at the Kaabo Mantis 10 electric scooter, which impressed me both with its parameters and mainly with its seemingly durable construction.

If you are active in the world of electric scooters, you are most likely familiar with the brand Kaaba. This brand has only been officially available in the Czech Republic for a few months, but it is extremely popular and popular around the world. Kaabo scooters belong to the highest class, and if you are looking for the best, believe that these scooters will offer you the best. Compared to competing electric scooters, Kaabo scooters are more expensive, but for more money you get a durable body, powerful engines and, above all, a product that was designed with thought in mind. Let's take a closer look at the Kaabo Mantis 10 electric scooter together in this review.

Kaabo Mantis 10

Official specification

In practically all of our reviews, we start with a list of official specifications, thanks to which more knowledgeable individuals in the field can immediately get a picture of the product. The Kaabo Mantis 10 electric scooter offers one motor with a power of 800 watts, the peak power reaches up to 1600 watts anyway. With the help of such a powerful motor, the reviewed scooter can handle up to a 25° incline without any problems. No less important is the range of electric scooters - with the Mantis 10 you can look forward to a range of up to 70 kilometers, which is a range that some competing electric scooters can only dream of. This range is provided by the 48 V/18,2 Ah battery, which you can fully charge in about 6 hours. As for the weight, it is approximately 24 kilograms. Again, I would like to point out that the Mantis 10 is a really robust scooter, so this weight should not surprise you in any way. Anyway, you are able to fold this scooter relatively easily, thanks to which you can place it, for example, in the trunk of a car and take it to the nearest bike path. Thanks to the 800-watt motor located in the rear wheel, the Mantis 10 scooter reaches a maximum speed of 50 km/h.

Processing and design

It is the processing that will captivate you at first sight on the Mantis 10 scooter - it is the same with the other Kaabo scooters anyway. And when I think of the first good one, I really mean the first one, i.e. the moment when the courier hands you the scooter. If you want to be sure that you can carry the scooter without problems, for example at least to the entrance, then expect that you will most likely need one more able-bodied friend for this. The scooter itself weighs about 24 kilograms, but the package includes other accessories, which increases the total weight even more. And as soon as you manage to take the box with the scooter to the necessary place, you will finally feel the perfect and high-quality workmanship to the touch.

Kaabo Mantis 10

The Mantis 10 electric scooter is constructed from a single piece of aircraft aluminum. The chassis, which is finished in an elegant black color, is very pleasing to the eye and says about itself that it is definitely not among the lower class models. After assembling the scooter for the first time, while you are still getting to know it in your own way, you will find that nothing is loose, nothing is loose, and you do not feel that anything could fail in any way. This is because the construction of scooters is really very important, as it goes hand in hand with the safety of the scooter. Since you can approach speeds of up to 10 km/h with the Mantis 50, there is absolutely no room for compromise. If anything goes wrong, it could cost you your life, and I mean it. Electric scooters are a lot of fun, but they need to be treated with respect and with the understanding that they are powerful machines, not toys.

The main supporting part of the electric scooter is the step on which you transfer all your weight. This tread has a special non-slip surface along its entire length. This means that if you decide to ride the scooter in light rain, you don't have to worry about the Mantis 10's tread shoe slipping in any way. The step as such also includes lights, which are useful in poorer lighting conditions, or if you have to move on classic busy roads. As for the forward lighting, you can turn on the two main lights, which are located in the front part of the tread body. In the same place, just at the back, there are red taillights, which even flash when braking. There is also backlighting of the entire tread. You can easily control all these lights with a button on the handlebars.

If we've already bitten the handlebars, we'll stay with them. The handlebars are also a very important element that must be as stable as possible when driving fast. In many electric scooters, the handlebars are a big weakness - but with the Mantis 10 there is really nothing to worry about. The handlebars just need to be firmly attached with a connecting piece of material that holds a total of four Allen screws. On the left side of the handlebars there is an "ignition" for the key, without which the scooter simply cannot go, together with a battery voltage indicator and a button for controlling the lights. On the right, you will find the main display, on which you can view various information and data about the ride. There are two buttons – one to turn the display on and off, the other to change the speed mode of the scooter. Of course, there is a lever with which you control the power of the electric motor.

I would like to dedicate the last paragraph to the "chassis" in terms of processing. You can already see from the photos themselves that the suspension of the Mantis 10 electric scooter is at a very good level. Specifically, this model uses spring suspension in the front and back, thanks to which you are able to drive without problems and in relative comfort even on worse roads with holes, possibly also offroad. The Mantis 10 also boasts massive 10″ wheels that connect the scooter to the ground. And if you have a vehicle with some power, it is of course necessary to be able to brake it. You don't have to worry about anything in this regard either, as there are 140 mm discs at the front and at the back, which brake the colossus in the form of the Mantis 10 very easily. In addition to this, the engine brake is also used, which also recovers energy - you can then use this for boost.

Own experience

I already said above that it is necessary to approach electric scooters with great respect and caution. I admit that in my case I made it quite difficult, as I had never properly ridden an electric scooter before reviewing the Mantis 10. Of course, it is always better to start with a weaker and slower model, gradually working your way up to the more powerful and faster ones. Since I'm sitting here writing this review right now, that means I've been able to rock the Mantis 10 without too much trouble. I can say for myself that if you use your brain when using an electric scooter and behave in exactly the same way as if you were riding in a car, i.e. on a motorcycle, then you will not have any problem - even if, like me, a complete amateur, you immediately saddle up a powerful machine.

Anyway, the truth is that I tried to move as little as possible on the main roads with the Mantis 10. I have the advantage of living in a village where there are countless different shortcuts and side roads that are definitely much safer. On the first day, I kind of played with the Mantis 10 – looking for the right position, practicing balance, turning in a small space and other basic actions – much like when you're three years old when you learn to ride a bike. You can really learn to use an electric scooter very quickly, so the very next day I started full-fledged testing. I found a nice patch not far from the house, on which I of course immediately tested the maximum speed. It should be mentioned that using the MODE button on the main display you can switch between three modes in total. In the first "eco" mode, you won't get over 25 km/h - this is the mode you should use on roads. After switching to the third mode, the limiter is unlocked and within a short time I was driving 49 km/h in this mode.

Kaabo Mantis 10

Of course, the more you constantly accelerate and the more you drive fast, the faster your battery will run out of juice. Although the manufacturer claims a range of up to 70 kilometers, this range is realistic in eco mode and on roads without gradients. If you want to enjoy the ride more and do not take into account whether you drive on a straight line or on hills, then expect a maximum range of around 50 kilometers. With the Mantis 10 scooter, you definitely don't have to be afraid to go even on worse off-road terrain. Thanks to the suspension and tires, the scooter handles even such demanding terrain without any problems, and in the end it is fun. And you will have even more fun if someone rides with you on the second electric scooter, for example a friend or loved one. Of course, I recommend that you wear at least a helmet and longer clothes. Safety is extremely important and a helmet can save your life in the worst case scenario.

I already mentioned in the introduction that you can fold the Mantis 10 scooter quickly and easily. The manufacturer indicates that you are able to perform the composition in 5 seconds, in any case, in this case I dare to slightly disagree. Even if you move as much as you can, you simply won't get to 5 seconds - and in addition, it takes a while in the beginning to be able to perform the overall procedure. The handlebars, together with the main "rod", are connected to the rest of the body by two classic quick-release fasteners that you may recognize from a bicycle. As soon as you loosen these quick-release fasteners, it is possible to fold the bar with the handlebars downwards. It should be mentioned, however, that the handlebars themselves are held on to the bar by means of four screws, which must be loosened if necessary and the handlebars subsequently removed. The tool set included in the package will help you with this. If you plan to take the scooter somewhere in the trunk of a car, take into account the greater weight so as not to damage the trunk or the body. All you have to do is bang the scooter lightly somewhere and there is a problem.

záver

We gradually got to the end of the review of the Kaabo Mantis 10 electric scooter. Since I spoke positively about this machine in most of the above paragraphs, you probably know that I will definitely recommend the Mantis 10 to you. I will do so mainly due to the really robust construction, which makes you feel safe and that nothing will spill on you at a speed of almost 50 km/h. I also have to praise the really perfect suspension, together with the big brakes, which brake and brake when necessary. With the Mantis 10, you can also drive without problems both on straight roads in the city and in different ways in the village, where you will move, for example, on unpaved roads or completely off-road. In none of these cases will the Mantis 10 surprise you in any way, on the contrary, you will be very satisfied with this scooter and you will enjoy every meter one hundred percent.

Even after two months, Kaabo electric scooters are still a hot new item on the Czech market, which unfortunately is not usually in stock. However, our partner Mobil Pohotovost stocked the reviewed Kaabo Mantis 10 electric scooter a few hours ago, so you can buy it too - it will cost you 32 crowns.

Finally, I would like to remind you once again to really think with your head when riding an electric scooter. Make sure you are not alone in traffic and that the same rules apply to you as everyone else. If possible, by all means use cycle paths or side roads. Try to avoid riding on narrow sidewalks, where you can very easily endanger any pedestrian. Be aware that reckless behavior can cause really serious consequences, both physical, psychological and financial.
