We carry a smartphone, in our case the iPhone, with us practically everywhere. Whether we go to work or school, for a walk or anywhere else, we simply don't go without a phone. In most cases, we carry our phone with us even when we go somewhere for a bike ride. Primarily due to the possibility of calling for help, however, we can also use a smartphone on a bike for example for navigation or listening to music in suitable conditions. However, holding your phone while driving is very dangerous, so let's take a look at the review of the Swissten BC2 bicycle holder, which will impress you with its design and price.

Official specification

As is the custom with our reviews, we will classically start with the official specifications of the Swissten BC2 bicycle holder under review. At the outset, it is necessary to mention that this holder is really very well made and robust, so it is also intended for wild off-road riding. This bike holder is designed for phones from 4″ to 7″ (i.e. width from 55 to 100 millimeters) and you can attach it to regular handlebars with a diameter of up to 31,8 millimeters. You can use it for bicycles, electric bicycles or electric scooters, or even for smaller motorcycles in the form of scooters. The price of the Swissten BC2 holder is 349 crowns.

Packing

The Swissten BC2 bike rack arrives in a typical white box. On its front side you will find the holder itself depicted with some information, on the sides you will find instructions for use in several languages. The back then again depicts the holder with additional features and information about what is included in the package. After opening the box, all you have to do is pull out the paper carrying case, which contains everything you need. In addition to the body of the holder itself, you will find an eyelet for attaching to the handlebar together with a screw, two eyelet inserts of different sizes, a sticker against scratching the phone and an Allen key to put everything together.

Processing

I mentioned above that the processing of the Swissten BC2 holder is really great, and in this part we will focus on it a little more. The entire holder, i.e. its body, the eye for attaching to the handlebars, the connecting material and the control for changing the width of the holder, is made of high-quality metal, so it is very robust. However, you will feel this immediately as soon as you take the holder in your hand for the first time. In short, you will immediately recognize that this is not a low-quality product, but quite the opposite. When I was taking a photo of the holder, a friend immediately ran up to me and after a short while asked me where he could buy the holder, which speaks for itself. I answered him that on Swissten.eu.

Installation

As for the installation of this holder, it is again nothing complicated and even if you use it with several bikes, you will not have a problem - everything takes only a few tens of seconds. First, it is necessary to attach the eye for attachment to the handlebars to the body of the holder using the screw from the package. For this step, make sure that your eye is turned well, depending on whether you want to have the phone in portrait or landscape orientation. After attaching, then loosen the screw in the eye itself and pull it out, which unfolds the eye. Then, if necessary, insert a plastic insert into it, which also serves to prevent the handlebars from being scratched.

Then simply insert the handlebar into the eye, snap it back and tighten it firmly with the screw. Definitely don't be afraid to tighten properly - the handlebars will not be scratched due to the plastic inserts. The holder must be firmly attached to the handlebars so that it does not come loose while riding. Then you just need to turn the metal roller to change the size of the attachment space as needed, insert the phone here, and then also pull it firmly into the jaw. If you are using the phone without a cover, use the anti-scratch adhesive pads beforehand, which you stick to the interface between the metal holder and the device. In any case, scratches can still occur, so I really recommend using a cover, also from the point of view of the slippery surface.

Personal experience

When I first picked up the Swissten BC2 holder, I knew it would be perfect for cycling. Of course, this was confirmed to me immediately after the first ride. Of course, I had to adjust the holder a bit before the first ride, that is, in terms of position, so that I could see the iPhone well - so sit down before riding the bike so that you can quickly do the same. When driving, the holder held without any problems and in the same place the whole time. As for driving in larger terrain, I was surprised by the fact that the phone practically does not rattle at all in the holder and, above all, it really holds thanks to the metal fastening mechanism and the jaw. If I needed to remove the iPhone from the holder, it was enough to turn the roller a few times to remove it, do the necessary things, and then simply insert the phone again and it was done.

Conclusion and discount

Do you have a bike, e-bike or scooter and are you looking for a quality holder for a few bucks? If you answered yes, then I have a great tip for the Swissten BC2 holder. This particular holder will surprise you mainly with its metal and therefore robust construction, thanks to which you can be sure that it will hold firmly on the handlebars, and that your phone will not fall out even during a serious off-road experience. As for the installation, it is nothing complicated, you can do everything in just a few tens of seconds. And once you've installed the bike holder, you'll only have to deal with inserting and removing the phone via the metal roller that pulls the jaw away. I think the Swissten BC2 mount has absolutely no downsides and offers everything you can expect from a bike mount.
