In today's modern age, the biggest technology giants are trying to get rid of cables in various ways. When it comes to headphones, ordinary users mainly reach for wireless ones, and the same is true for wireless chargers. There is nothing better than coming home from work after a long day and just placing your iPhone (or other device) on the wireless charger, without having to struggle with a cable. Of course, there are countless wireless chargers available - in this article we will specifically look at the 15W wireless charger from Swissten.

Official specification

The most important thing you need to know when buying a wireless charger is its maximum performance so that you can use its 100% potential. Of course, it also depends on how much power the device itself can receive during wireless charging. The latest iPhone 12 can be charged wirelessly with a power of up to 15W, but it should be noted that only with the use of a special MagSafe charger, which is much more expensive than the classic ones. Through classic Qi wireless charging, all iPhones 8 and newer can be charged with a maximum power of 7,5 watts. This means that for 100% use of the potential, the iPhone wireless charger itself should offer at least 7,5 watts of power.

The good news is that our reviewed wireless charger can deliver up to 15 watts of power, so you still have plenty of room to charge your Apple phones. But this reserve is definitely useful, as Samsung phones, for example, can be charged wirelessly with a power of 15 watts, as well as some devices from other manufacturers. You never know when you will find yourself in a situation in which a wireless charger with more power will come in handy. In addition, you definitely don't have to worry about the fact that if the wireless charger has more power, it can destroy your device - because it always "negotiates" with the device and adapts its power. It goes without saying that protection against overvoltage and undervoltage is available, available in black and white.

Packing

The packaging itself is processed exactly the same as most of all other products from Swissten. This means a white box with red elements that catches your eye at first glance. On the front, you'll find a picture of the wireless charger itself, along with basic performance information and more. On the side you will find all the specifications, including weight, dimensions and possible profiles for input and output. On the back of the box, you will find the instructions for use, along with an illustration of the dimensions of the charger. After opening, just pull out the plastic carrying case in which the charger is clipped. The package also includes a USB - USB-C cable with a length of 1,5 meters and, of course, a more detailed manual for use. It should be noted that the package does not include a charging adapter, which you either have to to buy, or use one of your own - take into account its performance.

Processing

As soon as I took the charger in my hand for the first time, I was definitely surprised by its processing. Despite the fact that the entire body of the charger is made of plastic, it is not some low-quality and soft plastic. Among other things, the quality of the processing can also be judged thanks to the weight - compared to the completely ordinary charger I have in the office, the reviewed one is about 30 grams heavier. Specifically, the 15-watt Swissten wireless charger weighs 70 grams. The diameter of the charger is almost 10 centimeters and the height is only 7,5 centimeters. On the front, there is a rubber target, thanks to which the device being charged does not slide off the charging surface, together with the Swissten branding. The underside is then rubberized, which prevents unwanted movement with the entire charger. Within the circuit of the charger you will then find a USB-C connector, with which you can put "juice" into it. When connected to the adapter, the charger lights up slightly at the bottom, which creates a nice effect on the table. When charging, the light pulses, if you are not charging anything, it stays on, which can be a disadvantage at night.

Personal experience

I personally used the reviewed Swissten 15W wireless charger in the office for a few weeks and I have to say that it looks really good on the desk. In my opinion, this is an absolutely perfect charger with an ideal price-performance ratio. In addition to the design, this particular wireless charger caught my attention because it really sticks to the table. With the old charger, I often accidentally misplaced it and moved it, which you certainly won't with the reviewed Swissten wireless charger. When I connected it for the first time, I was afraid that the ring-shaped lighting would not be too strong, which fortunately does not happen and the light can be tolerated without any problems even at night. During the entire period of use, I have not had the charger itself fail in any way. I used it daily to charge my iPhone and AirPods, and a few times to charge my Samsung mobile phone.
