The popular application has undergone major changes Read It Later. The update released yesterday brought a new icon, name and also a completely redesigned interface. The app is now called Pocket, is free and has really succeeded.

Pocket continues to do what Read It Later did - save various content from the web - but offers everything in a new guise. The redesigned interface has been done by the developers, it's clean, simple and overall it's a very refreshing change from Read It Later.

Pocket focuses on making working with the application as simple as possible, so that the user can easily and quickly get to their content. That is why various folders and control panels disappear, and on the main page there is only a clear list of saved articles, images and videos. It was images and videos that the developers particularly focused on, because in the five years that the application has been on the market, they found that users often do not save articles, but "backup" various videos, images and tips, with YouTube being the most popular source. Therefore, it is possible to display, for example, only saved images or only videos in Pocket.

Individual records can also be tagged, starred, and to be complete, search works across the entire application, so there are several ways to get to your content.

All the important buttons are in the top panel. With the button on the left you switch between the already mentioned display modes, from the next menu you can move between favorite and archived records and also get to the settings. The icon on the right is then used for mass editing - untick, star, delete and label. Everything is quick and easy.

As for the display of articles itself, you can choose the font (serif, sans serif), its size, text alignment, and switch to night mode (white text on a black background) or adjust the brightness directly while reading. In the lower control panel, the article can be starred, unchecked and also shared on many social networks. When you tap the display, full-screen mode is activated, so you will no longer be distracted by anything while reading.

Of course, the iPad version also received the same changes, which works the same, but perhaps some controls are located a little differently. When displaying articles, Pocket uses a large display and arranges them in tiles.

The big change compared to Read It Later also comes in the price. Pocket is available for all platforms for free. This is great news especially for those who have resisted this app until now.
