Press Release: QNAP® Systems, Inc., a leading innovator in computing, networking and storage solutions, introduces Qsearch 5.0 – a fast, full-text search tool with the following new features: image search, text-in-image search, and automatic file archiving.

Qsirch allows users to find files based on their title, content, and metadata. Qsirch 5.0 adds integration with the QuMagie Core AI module for identifying objects and people in photos, allowing users to search images using keywords or find other images of the same person by clicking on their face.

Qsirch 5.0 now includes OCR technology, which allows text in image files to be detected and these files found using keywords. The new automatic archiving feature uses Qfiling to perform one-time or automatic archiving tasks based on search criteria.

"The integration with QuMagie Core AI and Qfiling provides QNAP NAS users with easy and convenient file searching," said Josh Chen, Product Manager of QNAP.

Qsirch 5.0 uses a licensing system with subscription levels. The free plan allows users to enjoy powerful full-text and image OCR text searches with 3 filters available for each file type. The Premium license enables advanced search functions including searching by people and archiving search results using Qfiling.

Supported NAS models

Qsirch is supported by all x86 and ARM-based NAS devices (except the TAS series) with at least 2 GB RAM (4 GB recommended for optimal performance).

Availability

Qsirch 5.0 will be available from July 2020 in App Center. Qsirch 5.0 supports QTS 4.4.1 (or later) and QuTS hero.

Qsirch Helper browser add-ons for Chrome™ and Firefox® are available on the site Chrome Web Store or Firefox Browser Add-on.
