(QNAP), a leading innovator in computing, networking and storage solutions, today introduced the QuTS hero NAS enterprise device TVS-h1288X/TVS-h1688X with a six-core Intel® Xeon® W-1250 3,3 GHz processor (up to 4,7 GHz) and with up to 128 GB DDR4 ECC memory. These new models allow the installation of two PCIe QXP-T32P Thunderbolt ™ 3 expansion cards (sold separately) from QNAP to get four Thunderbolt 3 ports for high-speed media editing and collaboration. Along with 10 GBASE-T and 2,5GbE connectivity, ZFS data reduction and data integrity, the TVS-h1288X/TVS-h1688X satisfy bandwidth-hungry storage and applications for dynamic creative workflows and enterprise operations.

The TVS-h1288X/TVS-h1688X devices have four 2,5″ SATA SSD bays and two M.2 NVMe Gen 3 x4 SSD bays, allowing the use of SSD cache to increase IOPS performance and reduce storage volume latency for databases and virtual machine applications. With an integrated dual-port 10GBASE-T NIC (located in a PCIe Gen 3 x8 slot), four native 2,5GbE ports, and support for port pooling and failover, the TVS-h1288X/TVS-h1688X devices are perfectly paired with affordable managed/unmanaged 10GbE/2,5GbE switches of QNAP for creating productive, secure and scalable enterprise network environments.
PCIe Gen 3 x4 slots provide the ability to upgrade the basic functions of the TVS-h1288X/TVS-h1688X. Users can install two QXP-T32P Thunderbolt 3 expansion cards to connect up to four Thunderbolt-equipped workstations for more efficient teamwork in 4K workflows, storage, backup and file sharing. Users can also install 5GbE/10GbE/25GbE/40GbE network cards, 32 Gb/s/16 Gb/s Fiber Channel cards, QM2 cards to add M.2 SSD or 10GbE (10GBASE-T) ports, QXP storage expansion cards to connect QNAP JBOD drives or graphics cards (using a 550W power supply unit) to support video editing/transcoding or enable GPU throughput for virtual machines. The direct HDMI output supports up to 4K at 30Hz, providing great benefits to creative users who want to showcase their work without the need for a separate computer.
The TVS-h1288X/TVS-h1688X features ZFS-based QuTS hero and supports data integrity and self-healing. Multiple RAID configurations with Triple Parity and Triple Mirror are also supported to increase data protection. When it comes to data reduction, powerful inline data deduplication, compression and decompression significantly reduces the overall storage footprint and improves performance. QuTS hero supports virtually unlimited snapshots and versioning for enhanced data protection. Advanced real-time block SnapSync ensures that the primary NAS and secondary NAS always maintain the same data, providing the strongest support for non-stop business operations.
The included App Center provides various on-demand applications to further expand the application potential of the TVS-h1288X/TVS-h1688X, such as hosting virtual machines and containers, simplifying local, remote or cloud backups, enabling Google™ Workspace and Microsoft 365® backups, centralization VMware® and Hyper-V virtual machine backups and establishment cloud storage gateways to deploy hybrid cloud applications.
