QNAP introduces the TVS-h874 NAS with a sixteen-core Intel® Core™ i9 processor

Press Release: QNAP® Systems, Inc., a leading innovator in computing, networking and storage solutions, has introduced new high-performance models TVS-h874 NAS with QuTS hero system, which boasts a sixteen-core Intel® Core™ i9 processor or a twelve-core multi-threaded i7 12th generation processor with Intel® Core™ hybrid technology for optimal computing performance and smooth running of several virtual machines (VMs). Integrating a reliable ZFS-based operating system, PCIe Gen 4 expansion, M.2 NVMe SSD cache, and 2,5GbE/10GbE connectivity, the TVS-h874 helps businesses build high-performance storage environments for hosting multiple virtual machines and application servers and operating backup/recovery applications for corporate data.

TVS-h874 offers new SKUs TVS-h874-i7-32G with 12-core/20-thread Intel® Core™ i7 processor and TVS-h874X-i9-64G with 16-core/24-thread Intel® Core™ i9 processor, which use Performance Hybrid Architecture for optimization processor performance. The new models support up to 64GB of dual-channel DDR4 memory, provide two 2,5GbE ports and M.2 2280 PCIe slots, allowing the use of NVMe PCIe SSDs to increase IOPS performance when configuring SSD cache. High-speed Gen 4 PCIe slots are included to expand basic NAS functions such as add 10/25GbE network adapters, of QM2 cards to add M.2 SSDs and 2,5GbE/10GbE ports, entry-level graphics cards to allow GPU performance to be routed to virtual machines, and storage expansion cards to connect QNAP expansion units. The TVS-h874 device uses operating system QuTS hero based on the ZFS system. The ZFS file system is designed with data integrity in mind, is self-healing, and offers WORM (Write Once, Read Many Times). It also supports inline deduplication and block-level data compression technology for optimal storage utilization, faster data transfer and longer SSD life. Supports up to 65 snapshots for a complete record of system status and data.
