Press Release: QNAP® Systems, Inc., a leading innovator in computing, networking and storage solutions, has introduced a high-capacity desktop 2,5GbE NAS TS-1655, which accommodates twelve 3,5” hard drives and four 2,5” SSD drives. The TS-1655 is designed with a hybrid storage architecture that offers a balanced ratio between performance and price, and includes 8-core processing power, high speed thanks to the 2,5GbE interface and the ability to expand via PCIe to increase the efficiency of file sharing between teams, collaboration, backup , disaster recovery and virtualization.

"The TS-1655 strikes a balance between price and performance with a hybrid HDD/SSD storage design, while supporting RAID 50/60 arrays, offering higher data protection and optimal storage space utilization for large-capacity NAS users,” said Andy Chuang, Product Manager of QNAP. He adds: “With an emphasis on SSDs, it also includes built-in M.2 NVMe PCIe slots and dedicated 2,5″ SSD bays, facilitating the use of performance-intensive enterprise applications while allowing tiered storage to maximize cost efficiency. "

QNAP TS-1655

The TS-1655 uses a 5125GHz Intel® Atom® C2,8 octa-core processor that supports Intel® QuickAssist Technology (QAT) and features four UDIMM DDR4 slots (with 8GB of memory pre-installed) that can be installed up to 128 GB of memory for demanding tasks. Error-Correcting Code (ECC) memory is also supported, giving the device server-level performance and reliability for robust enterprise IT environments. After installing a dual-port 25GbE network card, the TS-1655 achieves excellent sequential read/write speeds of 3 / 499 MB/s.

The TS-1655 provides two RJ45 2,5GbE (2,5G/1G/100M) network ports that support port aggregation for load balancing and fault tolerance, helping organizations with bandwidth-intensive applications such as virtualization, large file transfers, high-speed backup/restore and real-time applications. Can work with managed/unmanaged 2,5GbE/10GbE switches by QNAP, allowing you to create a high-speed, secure and scalable office network environment without breaking the budget. The TS-1655 also supports SR-IOV and features three PCIe slots to expand NAS capabilities with various expansion cards such as 5/10/25GbE network cards, QM2 cards to add M.2 SSDs or 2,5GbE/10GbE network ports, cards Fiber Channel to create SAN storage and expansion cards to connect QNAP expansion storage units.

The reliable and multi-purpose NAS TS-1655 meets storage requirements for security, backup, file sharing, central management, and ensures data protection with snapshots that enable instant recovery and protect against the effects of ransomware. Additional features for businesses include: hosting virtual computerscontainers, simplifying tasks local/remote/cloud backup, facilitation backing up VMware®/Hyper-V virtual machines, cloud storage gateway deployment, creation S3-compatible object storage on NAS and much more.
