Key new applications and features in QTS 5.0:

  • Optimized user interface:
It features smoother navigation, a comfortable visual design, a bulletin board to facilitate the initial NAS installation, and a search bar in the main menu for quick application searches.
  • Enhanced security:
It supports TLS 1.3, automatically updates QTS and applications, and provides SSH authentication keys to secure NAS access.
  • Support for WireGuard VPN:
The new version of QVPN 2.0 integrates the lightweight and reliable WireGuard VPN and provides users with an easy-to-use interface for setup and secure connection.
  • Higher NVMe SSD cache performance:
The new core improves the performance and utilization of NVMe SSDs. After activating the cache acceleration, you can use the SSD storage more efficiently and at the same time relieve the memory resources.
  • Improved image recognition with Edge TPU:
Utilizing the Edge TPU unit in QNAP AI Core (artificial intelligence module for image recognition), QuMagie can recognize faces and objects faster, while QVR Face boosts real-time video analysis for instant face recognition.
  • DA Drive Analyzer with AI-based diagnostics:
DA Drive Analyzer uses cloud-based artificial intelligence to predict drive life expectancy and helps users plan drive replacements ahead of time to protect against server downtime and data loss.
  • QuFTP ensures secure file transfer:
QNAP NAS can act as an FTP server with SSL/TLS encrypted connection, QoS bandwidth control, setting FTP transfer limit or speed limit for users and groups. QuFTP also supports an FTP client.
